Good morning all I was wondering if anyone can help

I have been following simply Austin on YouTube (amazing videos and a great guy)

I have linked hyperspin and rocket launcher ect

I have installed retroarch and I have linked my mega drive Roms to the correct path and set the emulator as retroarch

I have audited my games the all gome up in green and when I highlight a game and click the rocketluncher button it will load (but lags really bad)

My question is when I lunch hyperspin go into the genesis games they are all listed but I press enter to start a game and nothing happens at all

Can anybody please help I have been trying for about 5 hours ha ha

Thank you guys

I was just searching for the same issue.  I cannot start games in hyperspin.  I have changed the start button using HyperHQ but it does not make a difference.  I'm only on v. 1.3.2 so I'll update and report back if that helps the issue.

If you have been following SImply Austin tutorials you should not even be to the Genesis section before you have added many others and have them working. It's likely that you missed a step by skipping (I am making assumptions here) some of the earlier videos.

I know with Retroarch you can have issues if you have incorrectly set paths in Retroarch itself or if it's trying to use the wrong Core. Has happened to me before but is hard to explain how to fix. I would follow his tutorials from the start (the "Install all systems") playlist and see if you missed something.

If you have followed from the start, did MAME and NES work?

Are you an HTPC user? Do you like Kodi/XBMC?

I'm brand new to this as well.  I also watched Austin's videos and I'm running into a similar problem.  I followed through the first three videos by simply Austin.  I'm at the end of the video for part 1 "Setting up MAME".  When I'm in RL I'm able to launch a game and play it with no issues.  When I go into HS , my system looks like it mirrors all the media/updates in MAME that are reflected in the video.  When in HS I try to start a game and I get the error screen that says "Can not find "E\Rocketlauncher\RocketLauncherUI\Databases\MAME\MAME.xml"".  I figured that I must have incorrectly set my ROM path in HQ.  I went to HQ and verified that my ROM path is correctly set up to go to my ROM folder E\ROMS\MAME.

I looked at a couple of other sources that people have published for setting up HS/RL and tried tweaking a few setting to see if I could get it to work... no luck.  I tried google searches with no luck either.

I noticed on the video it stated to make sure that your anti-virus didn't quarantine files.  At this point, tried shutting down my anti-virus and re-downloaded HS/RL files.  I started from scratch and went through the first three videos a second time setting up HS/RL/HQ and I'm getting the exact same error.

I'm not sure if I'm missing a file in the RocketLauncher\RocketLauncherUI\Database folder or if I have a setting in HQ set up wrong.  Or do my ROMS have to be in the RocketLauncherUI\Database folder?  I'm lost at this point and any help would be appreciated.

Yeah when you go to his channel, click PLAYLIST and choose Install all systems or something like that ;)

Usually though if games work in RocketLauncherUI and show up and run, but don't run in HyperSpin it means you have a bad ROM path. Make sure you set Rom path in HyperHQ and RLUI. I've been told this isn't necessary but I've had systems do exactly what you say when I didn't set the rom path in both.

Can you manually go to that director, Rocketlauncher root\RLUI\Database and see if you have files there? You should have them..they come default and also I think Austin goes over it in one of his vidoes where you click a button in RLUI that pulls in all the default databases.

Am at work so I can't recall the exact button but I recall something like that, or it might have just been choosing RLUI path correctly pulled the databases in.

All these types issues are much easier to solve with teamviewer if you can trust someone to have access to you. I've helped many people in chat and solved the issues via TeamView.

Good catch guys, I always assume people are starting with RL updated and forget about Austin's warning if you are upgrading ;)

Actually I should have known this because I had an error recently caused by the same (even though Austin tells in his video) I had set them to RL instead of HS..woops.

I have RL setup as my default frontend.  All was working.  Today when tuned system on now HyperSpin is trying to use database H:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncherUI\Databases instead of H:\HyperSpin\Databases

Really awkward thing happened to me today, everything was fine yesterday I have been going to town setting this thing up, everything has been going great. Today I started HyperSpin, and when I selected a game nothing happened. If I select it through RocketLauncher it works great. I was like ok something went a little flaky. My main RocketLauncher page is set to Hyperspin.exe and the plugin is HyperSpin. My settings for HyperSpin point to my RocketLauncher. But no matter what I do no game will launch. In my HyperSpin log it even states Launchiing Game, Using HyperLaunch, Getting Launcher path, C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe, Running Launcher, Launcher Command Line is: C:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe "MAME" "bublbob2", Launching Game..... And nothing. I saw this thread and was wondering if the guy above me was having the same issue? I hadn't changed anything. So I'm a tad confused.
