Metalzoic Posted January 29, 2016 Posted January 29, 2016 Do they allow you to map left stick analog controls to digital joystick controls? I was thinking about adding the Maximo games to my setup (and no other PS2 games at all), but they originally were analog for movement. This would be going into my cabinet/iPac setup with no analog. Want to know if it would even be playable before I waste any time on these games.
bdove67 Posted February 1, 2016 Posted February 1, 2016 I use PCSX2 and it allows you to map all your keys. The PS2 emulator needs a pretty decent computer, but when you get it working right, it looks great. I run mine at 1080 currently and my God of War games look 3rd gen. It uses the LilyPad plugin: I hope this help...
Metalzoic Posted February 3, 2016 Author Posted February 3, 2016 Thanks, but what I need to know is if I can map a digital joystick to those Analog controls. And even if I can is it playable that way?
Metalzoic Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 OK. Still need an answer people! Can the PS2 emulators use digital arcade joysticks mapped to analog controls? And if I can is it playable that way?
JoyStickKilla Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Maybe move this out of the wrong section and more people will see it and might give an answer? However, why don't you just install the emulator and test it out instead of waiting days to maybe get an answer? The emulator lets you assign anything to any control, don't see why not.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Here you go mate. The answer to your question is yes you can do and use your controls the way you are thinking. HOWEVER, this is only on a game by game basis. Some games require certain controls or setups. Example, two analogues, D pad and analogue, analogue to be use as ratio of tilt etc etc etc With the update that is coming I hear that the RL team are making a per game config optional on load. This is amazing news as you will be able to fix many bugs. I also hope that they can include the controls as part of these per game options. This will open up far more config options for you to add more games. I do remember someone made and shared their XMLs of games that can be played on cab controls. Not sure where or how accurate that is, but it could come in useful for you?!?!? Simply Austin's YouTube
Metalzoic Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 However, why don't you just install the emulator and test it out instead of waiting days to maybe get an answer? Well the entire point of asking is so I can avoid wasting my time setting it up if it doesn't work. The answer to your question is yes you can do and use your controls the way you are thinking. I do remember someone made and shared their XMLs of games that can be played on cab controls. Not sure where or how accurate that is, but it could come in useful for you?!?!? Cool, thanks for the answer. Don't need the list as this would all be setup for just 2 PS2 games for a Ghosts'n Goblins wheel (Maximo 1 & 2). Personally I think it's very wrong to put console games on an arcade cab, but GnG is such an iconic series and so many of the games weren't released in arcades that I'll make an exception for it.
