thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Hey guys Having problems with epsxe in hyperspin. I've gotten the emulator launched by itself, etc but cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong in hyperspin. I've played a few Roms I have for it separately (stand alone), my rom path is set properly , but even when I do a game audit it's all red. I'm not too sure if this ps1 emulator has a certain trick to setting her up but if anyone knows please let me aware. I've set up a lot of the basic systems in hyperspin but never this one. Thanks in advance
Spawk Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 If audit isn't working then they are probably not named exactly like the database. Are they zipped? Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Yea they are zipped for sure I'm going to re-do the whole thing and double check my steps
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Rlui? Not too familiar with what your referring to? I'm setting everything up as I've always done in hyperlaunch HQ. Maybe something's have changed in the past year??
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Ok then lol New things to learn I guess. I'm still rocking my hyperlaunch Hq for now
progets Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 HLHQ works fine if your have an old build and it works. HLHQ is now obsolete and RocketLauncher is the replacement for all the backend emulator and rom handling. If you want to support current emulator versions you'll need to upgrade. HLHQ can probably run epsxe but not the latest version of that emulator. Look at the module notes to see the version that your HLHQ supports and try that version.
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Well now I'm just using tekken 3. On the 7z file its tekken_3 Hyperlaunch HQ it's tekken 3. I can launch the emulator within hyperlaunch HQ without issue. But still with the game audit doesn't see the 7z tekken file. I'm not a noob, I've got 12 other systems setup but cannot figure why this is happening??
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Does epsxe recognize 7z files or do they have to be unzipped to bin? In stand alone mode it does not load 7z files just unzipped bins. Doesn't even see them in the folder. I'm using epsxe 1.9.25
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 I'm thinking it might be a renaming issue because on hlhq it' has (usa) after tekken 3. Any quick ways to rename a set?
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Ok thanks for that So all ps1 roms have to be extracted into BIN files, epsxe will not run 7z? If that's the case then I just have to find a way to rename the current roms
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 Boom there go, found it to recognize it now in HLHQ. So moving fwd... Naming and unzipped?
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 well she's launched in hyperspin. Fantastic. Wish there was a faster way to rename the playstation set...a clr mame for other emulators would be great
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 I think my issue right now is finding a quality site for the roms. Everyone I find either isn't labelled correctly or when unzipped it's a cue file and what not.
Spawk Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Are you not using RocketLauncher? With it you can leave them zipped (7zip) and RL will extract them before sending it to the emulator. They do load way faster uncompressed so if you have the HD space go for it. My go to places for games are PleasureDome and bitGamer. PD is open to join and a good first tracker to get used to watching your ratios. You will need an invite for BG but if you can prove you can share at PD, there are plenty of people here that can shoot you one. Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 I REALLY do not want to completely re-do my whole setup just to upgrade. I will eventually I think but for now I'm good....I think. Lol.
thenoob Posted February 7, 2016 Author Posted February 7, 2016 I've got PD for years (peach!) (bcgamer) they just don't host Sony unfort. I'm not familiar with BG, I've been down about a year but I def have been sharing on PD for years
Spawk Posted February 7, 2016 Posted February 7, 2016 Yeah PD does host the ps1 redump sets! (US is 455GB). You do kinda need BG for systems not allowed on PD though. Shoot me your e-mail in a PM and I'll send you an invite if you want. As far as upgrading, it's not as tough as it use to be. Especially if you kept things clean and have your emulators and roms in their own folders and not inside the HS folder. Simply rename your current folder to "HyperSpin-OLD". Then follow the tutorial here on site to installing HS and RL. After that, move all the media (and databases if you use any custom ones) from your old HS folder into the new install folder. The RL bezels for mame available here are worth the upgrade alone! Nevermind the Fades and HyperPause and the updated emu support. Seriously, RL has been a godsend for HS. And don't worry about having to learn a new program or anything, it looks and acts just like HLHQ but does more! It even scans for updates to itself.
