Avar Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Do you want them to have EmuMovies standard length and attributes (ie. gameplay followed by title snap)?
SUBZERO Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Yep, i'll make sure Circo gets them so he can normalize the audio and add them to Hypersync the video lenght is 35 seconds, 30 seconds gameplay fade into 5 seconds title screen
Avar Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Yeah I can do them for you. Will try and get them done tonight. Just needed to know if you wanted a custom jobby.
SUBZERO Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Thats awesome bro, everytime i go through the arcade set to fine tune stuff or check things they bother the hell out of me for years now and scroll though it many times a day.
Avar Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Here's umk3 done - Lemme know if you don't like it and I can redo.

Circo Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 I whipped those out in about 20 minutes I forgot you had asked me a while ago. I thought I would save avar the pain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ___________________________________ HyperSpin Website Admin Team Also Visit EmuMovies.com
Avar Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Thx Circo Yeah I just fired off the one but was grateful you had em good to go.
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 What program(s) do you guys use to make these? I have a number of Romhacks in my system that naturally don't have intro videos.
Avar Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 I use either fraps or dxtory, which will work with most games. Some games might need camtasia. Only system I've no idea how to record gameplay in is Daphne, as it defies all my efforts. Any NLE will work for editing but I use Vegas Pro.
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 So far Open Broadcast has allowed me to record plenty of gameplay on any system I've tried, though I've only tried like 3... but I've heard it won't record everything. What does "NLE" stand for?
Avar Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Non-Linear Editing. Refers to pretty much any AV editing suite eg. Vegas, Premiere, Camtasia, Movie Maker, etc.
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Oh very nice! Thank you for the info! You are a very informative and friendly individual and I appreciate your input and assistance around here.Man I'm pumped to make some of these!
Avar Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Thank you! That means a lot to me. Lemme know if you ever need a hand with em.
Circo Posted March 6, 2016 Posted March 6, 2016 Bandicam will record anything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ___________________________________ HyperSpin Website Admin Team Also Visit EmuMovies.com
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Bandicam will record anything Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Good to know, I still haven't run into issue with OBS, except that it's only outputting in .flv (Which you think would be fine since that's the default format for videos) I'm still looking into some editing programs. I 'procured' a copy of Sony Vegas, but it doesn't seem to even want to open or recognize the .flv files. Starting to wonder if I need some kind of codec pack for it or something. Or if there's an easy way to convert .flv to .mp4 (sadly changing the file extension did not solve the Vegas issue)
Circo Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Flv is not a good codec, file sizes are usually double. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk ___________________________________ HyperSpin Website Admin Team Also Visit EmuMovies.com
SkyHighGam3r Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Flv is not a good codec, file sizes are usually double. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk whoa, hold up, what? lol So FLV is twice as large as MP4??? Ohhhhh I may have to do some major conversions lol almost ALL my videos from the initial setup are FLV. There's maybe... 12... Mp4s... God that would really save me some space. Which I need anyway lol.
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Unless thay are custom jobs, almost all of the vids have already been converted by Circo and co. Just Re download the Vid sets and you should be complete... save the headache Simply Austin's YouTube
Circo Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Unless thay are custom jobs, almost all of the vids have already been converted by Circo and co. Just Re download the Vid sets and you should be complete... save the headache To be clear quality is lost in multiple conversions. EmuMovies is all or almost all original edited captures directly encoded into the mp4's that you download. None of our existing videos date back to the FLV days. Quality was much worse back then. ___________________________________ HyperSpin Website Admin Team Also Visit EmuMovies.com

LOL... oh man... you guys don't even know what kind of a headache it would be to download all new sets of videos on my system... Literally every last game in my setup has been renamed in one way or another, so there's no way it would be a simple and easy process. That's like... months of work added on to go back and re-do all the name schemes for each video lol then there's all the media from the roms i took OUT the first time... hahahaha... nooo no no no no no no. If I had a normal setup, that would be awesome. But I had to do things the hard way lol. Luckily I'm not too concerned about quality so long as there is something there to play in the video box.I know EmuMovies used to make it so you could just download single video files... but now it's all sets which really sucks if you just need one or two videos Plus I know they don't have videos for all the RomHacks out there which my system has a lot of. The sonic hacks alone... yeesh lol. I gotta record all that stuff. Right now I just need to figure out a way to get Vegas to crop my videos. So I may have to try something other than OBS since it's only outputting flv. I tried downloading Windows Movie Maker, but it won't install for some reason. Just hangs...
Avar Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Ultimately depends on what your goals are but if you were to use HyperSync for the job, it renames the videos as it downloads them to match your roms. Every once in a while it might miss one but I've found this to be a rare occurence. It would depend on just how different your naming convention is from the official XML. If it's remotely close, I've found HyperSync to be quite capable in that regard. Also, the EmuMovies FTP does still offer standalone video downloads. However, both of those options require membership of course. FatMatch, or an equivalent software, could also be used to quickly rename your vids. I can probably help you with cropping your videos in Vegas if needed.

For instance Anett Futatabi (JP)(en)(!) or whatever it was is now Earnest Evans 3 - Anett Meyer. or World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck is now Mickey Mouse - Illusion, World of. I know, madness, but it makes a TON of sense when you see all the games listed. That would explain it, I'm only a free member here and there, good to know some people can take advantage still. I'm not too worried about figuring out vegas at the moment (though it does look complex) My biggest thing is that OBS recorded in flv, and Vegas isn't opening them. Someone mentioned Bandicam earlier... may have to download that and re-record the missing videos. It's only like 12 or so for the Sega Genesis-CD-32X wheel I setup. So not too bad. I am going to have to do them ALL for the PC wheel I have though lol, and a lot of the modern disc systems too like PS2.
