AlexisCh Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Hello guys, I am new in the forum and an average PC user. I am happy that joined your community,I am facing an issue in RocketLauncher, I cannot set up a path for a new frontend. I click on the "search" icon but cannot see any pop-up window to choose the proper path, it always stuck/lag without any pop-up window;therefore cannot set-up a path for Hyperspin on RocketLauncher, any idea on that?I don't know if it's a bug issue with the RocketLauncher(Version 1.0.1.0) **39:20min on simply Austin's great video https://youtu.be/wehUnZxfVY4?t=38m53s see the attachment also please Thanks,Alex
AlexisCh Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 Thank you Agent47,That's true, I should think it before, will try to ask them too
32assassin Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I seen that error before and it was due to UAC restrictions, the user put his entire Hyperspin folder in the Program files and had very high UAC restrictions.
Spawk Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Some people on windows 10 experienced lockups in hyperhq when trying to input paths as well. Not sure if UAC was the culprit there though. You can try running RL "as administrator".
AlexisCh Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 Thanks for your replies,I have windows 7,according to the following topic -> http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/showthread.php?1847-Problem-adding-hyperspin-as-default-frontend&p=24791#post24791 plenty of people had the same issue with me having windows 7, they updated on windows 10 and problem resolved.what I did till now is 1. to disable UAC - Nothing happened, still the same issue and 2. run the Launcher as an administrator, - again the same issue remained. I will try to update to windows 10, that's my final solution for now.Edit: Just to let you know guys,I managed to fix it.I had .NET Framework 4.5.2, I removed this version and I re-installed .NET Framework 4.0. (older version) Now I can set-up the paths as appropriate and move on.Thanks again, maybe is useful for other users too.
Spawk Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I use win7 and never experienced anything like this. And my UAC is still on! Should be noted though, that I do not have anything installed on my C:\. I also don't run any antivirus and when I installed win7-SP1 from the dvd on this machine, I immediately turned off windows update. Security is not really an issue on a dedicated gaming machine. If something were to somehow happen to my system, I would simply format and re-install from dvd. Some complimentary programs like dtools might also have to be reinstalled if you use them. It's kinda the old fashion way of doing things but I think it's much easier than messing with AV programs and definitions, and cleaners... individual malware/virus removal tools! I've also heard that using "aero themes" can cause issues with displaying pop-up dialogs in some programs but I have not experienced this with RL either. I wish I could help more, I am sure it is something simple like this. I personally dread updating to win10, but I hope it solves your issue.
