SophT Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 I know I'm about a year too late - but did any of this ever get added to the FTP these look like some fun games! Things I Break ----- System Requirements? How do I remove rom warnings? How do I shut-down my computer? How do I shell HyperSpin?
redmistpete Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 I uploaded them to my photobucket - It's on my redmistpete channel with the PSX art I'm doing. feel free to download them from there if you like but I've cleaned a few of them since then - the edges weren't very neat.
logan5 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 These are really cool redmistpete! Do you have these themes offered on the FTP? Thanks for great work! A great complement to the Popcap Collection (although this is a MUCH larger set of games).

A great complement to the Popcap Collection (although this is a MUCH larger set of games). You're welcome. I'm not sure how to use the FTP here but here's a link I made for another user after a personal request for the Cleaned-up Artwork, Database files and the theme config (as I like it): http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IUB573GC Hopefully it's still active, let me know if there's a problem (feel free to upload it to the FTP here for others to use if they find it useful). Cheers.
THK Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Is there a difference in what games they have available? I keep seeing a lot of the same games on the different sites. If like Big Fish Games has a few exclusive games that aren't in the PopCap system, I could do a BFG system theme like PopCap. ..........................back with a vengeance........................
redmistpete Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Is there a difference in what games they have available? I keep seeing a lot of the same games on the different sites. If like Big Fish Games has a few exclusive games that aren't in the PopCap system, I could do a BFG system theme like PopCap. The main reason for that is that they all manufacture their own games but generally have other peoples games in their library to sell as well. Reflexive has the majority of games from each library but some games remain exclusive. Bigfish also has a large library of their own games but not so many of anyone elses; many of the Bigfish games (mainly the large file-sized games) are exclusive and can't be found on the Reflexive site or elswhere. So, in conclusion - use Bigfish and Reflexive together for almost 100% of all the available games of this genre. A general theme would be good maybe carrying a few of the popular logos?
logan5 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Thanks a lot redmistpete! MU has this error, hopefully it's temporary: "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable." Regarding Bigfishgames, is it possible that all of the exclusive titles have already been done and now all new games get released on both reflexive and bigfish? If this is the case then the old exclusive Bigfish games could be themed and considered complete. I used to follow all of the smaller game companies and I thought I came to this conclusion but I could be wrong. BTW, Puppygames has a few REALLY neat titles: http://www.puppygames.net/ Update, link is working now. Thanks a lot redmistpete! This is going to look great!
THK Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I've downed the Reflexive & Big Fish logo's/artwork. (As much as I could find anyway.) So I at least have enough artwork to create a main/system theme for both of those. I have a pretty good idea of the style of each of their themes & will try to keep them pretty much in line with the Pop Cap system. Now all I need to know is: 1. Should I make these systems? 2. If so, what are popular and preferably exclusive games for these systems? (I'd like to know what games are exclusive anyway, so we could make a list of the exclusives for these and the rest I'd just place in the Pop Cap system.) ..........................back with a vengeance........................

Reflexive don't seem to make many of their own games nowdays but every week about 5 new games are added to their library from other manufacturers! As for the exclusive games, If you click the "Large file" section on Bigfish (in the PC Game drop-down menu), most of those are not available elsewhere - the other smaller games can be found on the Reflexive site along with all the pocap, zylom, gamehouse games etc. Hope this helps - see what others suggest for the system themes as well though. Incidentally, a lot of the popular games can be bough (past and present) in the stores. eg Syberia 1&2, Mystery Case files, Jewel Quest, Bejeweled etc, etc...
logan5 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I definitely think a Reflexive game list should be made. There are some great games which are retro-themed. Here are a few of my favorites: Platypus Ricochet Games Titan Attacks Ultratron Space Taxi 2 Crimsonland Gold Sprinter I checked their site and it seems there are 149 pages in total, 9 games on each page. http://www.reflexive.com/index.php?END=1490&PAGE=GameList&SORT=Age&START=1481 Above is a link for the very last page sorted by date. I know a lot of these games but definitely not all. There are a lot of Hidden Object Games which are being released and I think they target a very niche group so maybe they could be skipped. Many of them are just variations on the exact same theme. A "Best Of" list would be ideal. I think there are only a handful of Bigfish games which are exclusive to that company so maybe the best way would be to start on the best Reflexive ones. I followed the Reflexive site for awhile so I can go through the site and pick some of the games which are both most unique and most popular (if that helps). I'm going on vacation but may be able to work on that while I'm away.

I've already done quite an extensive list of the Reflexive games for my wheelArt pack, have a look and see if you want to add more to the list, rather than start from scratch while you're on holiday. (see link below - I'm pretty sure I included the hyperspin database file in the folder.) http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IUB573GC
logan5 Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I must be losing it, I just downloaded that list from you (duh)...That's a lot of games in there! Wow, in the update you've even got Defender of the Crown in there! Looks like you've got the Ricochet games as well. I definitely think these should be added: Platypus Titan Attacks Ultratron Space Taxi 2 Crimsonland Mutant Storm Titan Atacks and Ultratron are from the developer Puppy Games but on the Reflexive site; they'd look great in Hyperspin for sure! I'll go through the Reflexive List this week. Thanks for uploading what you've done so far!

Not tried the others, I'll give them a whirl. Maybe everyone can post more games that should be on the list before works gets started on the themes.
THK Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Redmistpete, I do not mean to hijack your thread, I'll start a new one once I've got some more work done on it. Just wanted to say I've started on the Big Fish themes and give a peak of the WIP: ..........................back with a vengeance........................
redmistpete Posted May 1, 2010 Author Posted May 1, 2010 Hey, no probs about the thread. That artwork's looking great! Congrats
logan5 Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Sounds good redmistpete! Thanks for that! You've already got a really great start with reflexive. I'll go through the reflexive site and let you know what I think is imperative to add. THK, maybe you can post whether or not the games I post are on Bigfish (so there isn't wasted effort). The games I listed I'm pretty sure are exclusive to reflexive. I know there are really great games which are only on reflexive so I'll make that list for redmistpete. I'm more familiar with reflexive as well. P.S. THK, that Bigfish will look great in hyperspin!
THK Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Reflexive WIP: (I couldn't find a decent title logo image.) ..........................back with a vengeance........................
