Please follow Post#200. Agent47 had you add the -script command line switch. Just cut and paste what he included into your batch file. It should show up in your "daphne_log.txt" if you had made the change.

Also, if this fixes it and if your crosshairs are stuck to the edges of the screen, change "-fullscreen" to "fullscreen_window" in your batch file. But do the above first.

Yeah I did that mate and it still does not work just the small black rectangle box then nothing.

Here is my batch file:

@C:\Emulation\emulators\daphne-singe\daphne.exe singe vldp -x 800 -y 600 -fullscreen -framefile singe/maddog/frame_maddog_dvd.txt -script singe/maddog/maddog_dvd.singe

I presume RL is Rocket Launcher if so then no because I can not get it to work on it's own then I do not think it will work with RL..

Not too sure what the PCLauncher module is... Sorry dude I am not the greatest on computers just try going off the SBS tutorials usually with no problem but this one has me stumped..

Zoltar,

A couple things please.

I think the command line is too long.

To confirm this, please post your entire Daphne_log.txt file.

Here is a post about the command line length: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/2139-complete-guide-for-american-laser-gameswow-actionmax-in-hypespin-and-RL/?p=179022

Please post your log file.  :D

Thanks,

Ron

Hey Ron,

Thank you for the reply hopefully we can get this going, I just want to highlight what I have done so far in case I have made a mistake somewhere.

I have copied your setup and just to note I am using the dvd version NOT the CDrom..... Not sure if this makes a difference.

STEP 1: CREATED A FOLDER IN C: DRIVE CALLED EMULATION

STEP 2: INSIDE EMULATION FOLDER I ADDED A NEW FOLDER CALLED EMULATORS

STEP 3: I DOWNLOADED DAPHNE SINGE AND UNZIPPED IT TO EMULATORS FOLDER - SO FAR MY PATH LOOKS LIKE THIS: "C:\Emulation\Emulators\daphne_singe"

STEP 4: RUN THE MAD DOG INSTALLER AND SEND IT TO DAPHNE SINGE FOLDER - THIS FINISHES AND SAYS COMPLETE DOUBLE CLICK PLAY MAD DOG TO PLAY

STEP 5: NOW INSIDE THE DAPHNE SINGE FOLDER I HAVE TWO BAT FILES AND A BUNCH OF OTHER STUFF - WHEN I DOUBLE CLICK PLAY MAD DOG I GET AN ERROR AND ALSO THIS CREATES A NEW FOLDER CALLED FRAMEFILE - PIC BELOW:

CP1_zps9ma41mo7.jpg

Capture2_zpsfyvadwu9.jpg

STEP 6: COPY MAD DOG FULLSCREEN BAT AND PASTE TO FRAMEFILE FOLDER AND RENAME MADDOG.BAT

STEP 7: EDIT BAT FILE FROM THIS:

@daphne.exe singe vldp -x 800 -y 600 -fullscreen -framefile singe/maddog/frame_maddog_dvd.txt singe/maddog/maddog_dvd.singe

TO THIS:
daphne.exe singe vldp -x 800 -y 600 -fullscreen -framefile singe/maddog/frame_maddog_dvd.txt -script singe/maddog/maddog_dvd.singe

I COPIED YOURS BUT CHANGED CDROM TO DVD

STEP 8: DOUBLE CLICK MAD DOG BAT.......... SMALL BLACK RECTANGLE WINDOW FOR LESS THEN A SECOND THEN NOTHING.

DAPHNE LOG:
--DAPHNE version 1.0.10

Bad command line or initialization problem (see daphne_log.txt for details).
To run DAPHNE, you must specify which game to run and which laserdisc player you are using.
For example, try 'daphne lair noldp' to run Dragon's Lair in testing mode.

Zoltar,

Ok, that all looks good so far.  Can you show me what the inside of your singe folder looks like?  And what the inside of your maddog folder looks like.  Inside this folder is there some .singe files?  Be sure there is a maddog_dvd.singe and frame_maddog_dvd.txt file in there.

Next, try putting a CD at the top of your bat file.

So, open the bat file and put a blank line at the top.  put "CD C:\Emulation\Emulators\daphne_singe" (without the quotes).  Save the file and test.

Thanks,

Ron

Are your txt and singe files called ...dvd...? Do the names of the files in your bat match the files in the singe/maddog/ directory?

Thanks,

Ron

It looks like you don't have this file or the path is set incorrectly.

Is there such file ?? I dont find it in my directories !

Sorry to bother again. Got all my Daphne stuff set up now I'm having problems with this 1. Got everything set up. The bat files in my framefile folder all launch their respective games so I'm assuming I have all the paths set up properly in there. But when I try to go through RocketLauncher I get a crash & this logfile...(I'm using Mad Dog McCree for my example but they're all throwing up the same thing)

daphne_log.txt

Here's how my bat file reads for this game. I'm not going to bother with Action Max so I just installed everything to the singe folder directly...

cd
@Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\DaphneSinge\daphne.exe singe vldp -x 800 -y 600 -fullscreen_window -scanlines -framefile Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\DaphneSinge\singe\maddog\frame_maddog_cdrom.txt -script Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\DaphneSinge\singe\maddog\maddog_cdrom.singe

I saw the cd part a few posts up & tried it, it was doing the same thing without it.

So I saw this in the logfile..

Script Z:\Hyperspin\Emulators\DaphneSinge\framefile\maddog.singe does not exist.

& figured I'd just copy the maddog.single file over to the framefile folder & see if that would be enough. Nope, it wants the txt file there next, then it wants stuff out of the cdrom folder in the framefile folder. How'd I set this up wrong?

& it gets weirder. Just randomly tried starting them again today & now they all work in RL. I try starting them in HS & nothing happens. It's like the enter key just gets disabled in that wheel only.

Are you sure Daphne the Daphne process is completely closed before trying to re-launch them in HS? No Daphne in your task-tray thingy doober?

Posted

Pretty sure it would be in the tray if it were running.

I just remember that was a common sticking point. Trying to play it when it's already open so nothing happens.

Posted

Alright back home. There's nothing in the tray or the task manager. Even tried rebooting the pc & starting HS 1st thing with the same result. Like I said earlier it seems like the enter key gets disabled on that wheel only somehow. It simply doesn't do anything when I press it in that wheel yet I can back out & start games from other systems fine within the same instance.

Posted

Do you have the roms only filter turned on in HyperHQ with an incorrect rom path? That can cause a sub-wheel not to open.

So can not having speakers plugged in (not this if your other systems work) or possibly an XML error?

Posted

I have HyperHQ set up just like in the tutorial. There aren't any speakers hooked up yet but like you said that would stop the others from working too. The XML thing is a possibility though, the sites XML doesn't have TimeGal TimeTraveler or Ninja Hayate so I had to add those manually & may have done something wrong there. I'll try the stock xml when I get home from work today & see if that helps. In the meantime is there something in Don's Hypertools that'll let me add those games in the way HS wants to see them? Just in case that is it.

Posted

You don't have speakers plugged in? It shouldn't be working right at all then. HS needs speakers hooked up to work correctly (was supposed to be fixed in 1.4, but wasn't)

You said you have HyperHQ setup like in the tutorial, but that didn't actually answer the question. Do you have any of the filters turned on, and if you do is your rom path entered and is it 100% correct?

As for the XML there's no need to use Dons for just 2 games. Just copy/paste another entry and change the info to Ninja/Time Gal.

Posted

That's....news to me. lol I'm 31 systems deep into this now & the speakers have been mounted in the cabinet the whole time. Probably means I'm in for a bad time when I go to set up the rest. >.<

In any case, I've got it straightened out now. I just hit on this by sheer luck. I noticed the daphne singe module wants to see singe in the extensions according to the module notes. So I added that to the module & to the extensions for this in HyperHQ. That's apparently what got it working in RL but no enter in HS. played around a bit more & removed singe from HyperHQ & it works. If I remove singe from the module extensions in RLUI too I start getting the "bad command line initialization" popup

So, yeah, TL;DR version.....

Just have bat as the extension in HyperHQ but put bat|singe into the modules extensions in RocketLauncherUI. They all work now.......somehow.

This isn't working with my Mad Dog McCree or Who Shot Johnny Rock disks.  Is there a certain version of those disks this works with?  No luck with Daphne Singe, but had no issues setting up Dragon's Lair on regular Daphne.
