But I should have read it carefully - 2011!

I agree games come out but how many newbies can install these games themselves? Is there an easy wake through for that? If so I'd like a copy too. ;-)

They are very easy to install. The issue is, you have to have an Amiga with a HDD or an Emulated desktop setup.

With the Amiga OS up and running. You have to have the WHDLoad installer and the disc images. Mount the disc images and run the installer.

If you have everything, it's easy.

eheh yeah KG isn't the one making the installs since a long time, Retroplay is taking care of it now and he pretty much keeps up to date with the new slaves on a weekly basis.

Installing them is simple enough if you know your way around AmigaOS and workbench (and have the required adf/ips files), but if you don't you'll struggle with it easier to just wait for the pre-installed packages ;)

I have also found that many of the disc images are cracked versions of the game. Quite often the WHDLoad installer won't work on those. Lucky for me, most of my favs are either already installed and available or I have the original discs. ;)

I've version 1.1 of Putty is that the game causing issues? Mine runs if it is but have problems with Dogfight and rage games.

Yes, on the list. Along with an .adf version for WinUAE. But for sure you need something like Amiga Forever. Or be knowledgeable on the Amiga OS and have the right software. So the guide will not be for the average user. ;)

One of the steps needs changing slightly -

"Click on the Emulators tab on the top.

Hit the green plus next to Rom Paths and set the path to your Amiga roms.

Select your Default Emulator as WinUAE Loader [Global]:"

I found that I needed to click "Commodore Amiga" on the left first, before clicking the "Emulators" tab on the top.

Finally got this beast working though - great guide!! Thank you

:adore: No probs! Thanks for the guide - I had been struggling to set up winuae for ages and always like the simplicity of the loader. Works like a charm :)

Do you know if there an xml for the whdload set (ie to list the game names correctly in the wheel list)? I used dir2xml to create my own and it's a bit messy, although it works it would be a job to edit manually if someones already done it. I dowloaded a Commodore Amiga.xml from a diffrent thread but it wasn't valid (all the <crc> entries were malformed).

Yes, the xml in HyperList (unofficial system list) is correct for the KillerGorilla WHDLoad packs.

Just one last question if I may...

I want to configure the "display" output to 800x600,

do I chage the settings in WinUAE configuration file (default.aue)? or do I change the settings on WinUAEloader's GUI? or do I just set it in Hyperlaunch?

Same query for controller's "input" too please - WinUAE GUI or WinUAEloader's GUI?

With WinUAELoader, those setting are done in the Loader, not WinUAE.

Ron I got a small problem. I had this all setup no problem on my other system, worked like a charm due to your guidance and extra help of course. Thanks again for that.

Problem I have now it that I chose the easy route to moving it over. Infact I just cut and pasted the system. I did set it back up once that was completed pointing the paths etc, finding the kickstarts etc. I now loads no problem so I set it aside and moved on.

Problem is that I have now tried to help Relic out with his setup of controls. When I tried to load it in Hyperspin, the fade popped up, its waits until Hyperlaunch is finished and then you get that error... THEN it kicks in and loads. I have tried to extend Fade to allow it time to load in background... again it just waits then loads. I have also turned fade off but then it looses focus and loads behind HS?

Have I missed something really silly when I moved it over?

Here is my log... I see the error but I cant see why it will not kick in till fade has finished or why its loosing focus?

Ron I got a small problem. I had this all setup no problem on my other system, worked like a charm due to your guidance and extra help of course. Thanks again for that.

Problem I have now it that I chose the easy route to moving it over. Infact I just cut and pasted the system. I did set it back up once that was completed pointing the paths etc, finding the kickstarts etc. I now loads no problem so I set it aside and moved on.

Problem is that I have now tried to help Relic out with his setup of controls. When I tried to load it in Hyperspin, the fade popped up, its waits until Hyperlaunch is finished and then you get that error... THEN it kicks in and loads. I have tried to extend Fade to allow it time to load in background... again it just waits then loads. I have also turned fade off but then it looses focus and loads behind HS?

Have I missed something really silly when I moved it over?

Here is my log... I see the error but I cant see why it will not kick in till fade has finished or why its loosing focus?

Version=WinUAE 2.7.0 (2013.12.05) is the version I am currently running Ron. Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. Bank Holiday weekend over here and there was far too many beverages being passed around to say no :D

As for the command line Im not sure when it comes to this thing. I cut and pasted into the CMD Prompt but it just comes back saying its not a batch file?
