kingreefer Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I just need to know where and what file to edit in order to make a bezel load fully on the screen ? To explain my issue a bit better i download SimplyAustins setup of hyperspin and have set it up fully and have no issues because i had set this up on my main system in my house all his bezels worked flawlessly. The reason being mine and his computer were pretty close to the same specs wise! Now my issue comes in because i moved my setup to my room......now my pc in there even though still widescreen it does not get up the high resolution that my main screen does and in turn when i load a bezel on the bedroom pc it loads and is fine but the top portion of the screen shows about an inch of the backgrounds that is normally there! and no matter what i set the resolution to on the monitor i cannot get it to fix this ..... I will include 2 screenshots of what i mean ....the first pic is my main system working good no issues ....second is the bedroom system all working good except the bezel as seen in error pic. If anybody can help me with this id be super greatful!!!
kylecp1979 Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 you should be able to fix that in rocketlauncher with the Y axis offset. Here is a simply austin video that might help go to about 30 mins in
kingreefer Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 ok I watched the video and i could be wrong but he seems to be addressing the issue but within his emulator ...in that vids case he was reffering to the module attached to the WIN UAE emulator ....and in my case the module that i would have to look at would be retroarch, if that was the only place it was happening, but my problem is global and seems to be an issue within hyperspin and not so much rocketlauncher! Sp with his info above no matter what integer i put into the offset it only adjusts retroarch and doesnt help with the global problem.....i really apologize for the crappy grammar it has to be my weakest point but i hope you understood what i meant! Edit: Ok so i realize it also happens when the games launch without hyperspin so to correct myself above i believe the problem is within the global part of rocketlauncher rather then the module because it does it with all the seperate systems!
kingreefer Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Even when i load mame on that computer it still has that inch at the top and bottom and that doesnt even use retroarch which is why i came here to ask were i would change it to make it work globally
Spawk Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 First off, hyperspin has nothing to do with bezels. It doesn't look for them or load them or care anything about them. This is all rocketlauncher. I could be wrong but it looks like these bezels are made for 16-9 and your monitor is actually 16-10. Not sure how to fix that personally. Metalzoic would be able to help more with that. Sent from my SGH-I337M using Tapatalk Yes I realize now that hyperspin has nothing to do with bezels which is why i corrected my above post but from what yer saying im gonna take a wild guess here and just assume that i should make the bezels as per my monitor size as opposed to thes ones supplied by austin....which i do believe you are right they are for 16x9 ..... your commment has really helped because up until now i never even thought about actually recreating the bezels!
kylecp1979 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 try changing your pc's display setting scale to 100% if its not already and turn your resolution up as high as it will go and see if that helps.
Metalzoic Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 The pic of that 2nd monitor is obviously not a standard 16:9 widescreen. RocketLauncher probably has no choice but to show the bars at top and bottom because the monitor is a weird aspect ratio. If it is 16:10 there are a few posts in the bezel section at the RL forums that might have a fix. I've never read through them myself though so not 100% sure.

Thx for the idea my friend i figured making this post there would have been the better idea instead of here since the problem seems to be within rocketlauncher .... I have tried every resolution on this monitor and no matter what i choose it does this ...... hopefully somone there can shed some light on what to do .... I tried searching but found a boatload of info just nothing really reffering to this problem. so i made a post myself and we will see were it goes from there.... I believe you guys are right though about this monitor not being normal ratios because it does list weird resolutions i might just toss it and get another monitor like my main one

kingreefer Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 What is your display resolution? 1680 x 1050 ...its at the highest setting
kylecp1979 Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Metalzoic and spawk are right. That is a 16:10 resolution so that is why your having that problem. You will probably need to resize your bezels. You can probably find a how to guide online.

TY very much for the ideas there a big help because I wasnt even thinking along these lines at all!
kingreefer Posted May 1, 2016 Author Posted May 1, 2016 Well problem half fixed hahaha ..... ok so i am not really a graphics guru so this isnt my area at all Needless to say i was able to just resize alot of them and they work without issue but only about half the other half all have issues were when you load the game and the bezel shows up the game area isnt centered in the transparant area and is usually covered by some of the bezel ill attach an example .......so far though this is as far as i got with the resizing mission! Works ok resizing some then not so good on others mostly the handhelds and mame are the ones that will not work were as ones like nes were straight forward resizing! Also i should note that changing it in the settings ....like in retroarch for example you can go in and stretch but it only stetches inside of that transparent area, it will not come to the actual transparent area of the actual bezel and not just the transparent area in that grey background...... i hope you can understand what i mean.
kylecp1979 Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 you will probably need to center them in the rocketlauncher module settings like that austin video I posted earlier. Adjust the x and y axis

My monitor is also 1680x1050, what i do is downsampling if you on amd graphics card here is tutorial http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=404125. Here is how look snes sm world in retroarch on my monitor on downsampled resolution 1920x1080
danwelsh Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 I have the same resolution as you have, I ran into this problem and resized my bezels with a batch program from the 3rd party section on here called fotosizer. I'm lovin my arcade
ljubinko Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 @danwelsh Apparently this is better solution for resizing than downsampling, image is far sharper on native 1680x1050 resolution i tried fotosizer, awesome little program.
