Taito Type X headache and Woes

Hi Guys

 

after so man months i finally realized what i was doing wrong in getting taito Type X to work

 

now i have it working with the games i have i am stumbling on another issue

 

yes its not hyperspin related completely but because im using hyperspin i was hoping you guys can help me

 

i set it all up on my pc with LCD high res monitor and all works as it should

 

then i decided to repeat the install and setup on my Naomi Cabinet running a Sanwa 29E31S 31K monitor which as a max res of 640x480 (it wont run 800x600or above)

 

so i do the necessary things and when i try to run it outside hyperspin vis the bat file the game.exe crashes

 

because everything is identical in every way OS, setup etc etc and only teh monitor is different

 

im thinking it could be a resolution issue

 

how do i change the res of the games to start in 640x480

 

arcade pc loader had the option to change res in the GUI before launch but i don't know how to do it as part of the command line

 

i would appreciate some help

You will be able to change it ion one of the following as I have had to do the same.

If you are running RH arcade loader then press ctrl and f11 and change the box thats shows the resolution to you chosen resolution. If you are not using RH loader for some games like me you will find the resolution settings in Gameres.dat. Hope this helps

Yeah, I'd say you set your rez in Arcade PC Loaded like normal. Change your rez there and it will create a new _launcher.exe with your settings. Your bat files are probably already pointing to the launcher.exe so you shouldn't need to re-make your bats.

For example if I wanted to alter the rez of Chaos Breaker I run it through Arcade PC Loader. Change the res. This saves my settings in the CB_launcher.exe. My ChaosBreaker.bat file simply has "cb_launcher.exe" in it.

 

So launching the bat, launches cb_launcher.exe, which has all my settings including rez, which launches the game.

 

That's how I set all mine up (except for Wacky Races & Half-Life) and they were all pretty easy to get running. Others do it different ways though.
