Hi thanks 4 the guide , but having 1 slight problem when I save my config files settings,hardware,host well it seems to save the directory paths but not when I change display settings I click host save my config it creates the config but it doesn't show in the gui just the orig default display configs I even tried to copy over 1 of them to fool it and that then disappeared from the gui so im stuck with the display setting defaulting every time I use it anyone have that prob and solved it? THANKS

And where exactly are you saving the config file? Maybe post some screen shots? And maybe even a HyperLaunch Log?

soz im putting it in the config folder and on the host tab im saving to host folder , I think the prob is under settings tab configs I can see the amigahost config file but when I highlight it I cant set autoload its greyed out (I haven't tried it in hyperlaunch yet)

Ok, it does need to be saved in the Host directory, not the Configurations directory. And it doesn't matter if it auto-loads or not, HyperLaunch will load the correct configuration file from the Host directory. It doesn't need to auto load, it will work just fine so long as it's in the Host directory.

Hi. Thank you very much!!! Problem solved!! I don't know what was that program in a folder of the desktop that you highlighted in red, but I deleted that folder and problem solved. Now my log is like yours.

Just a quick one... I'm trying to get a game running that isn't in the XML (Player Manager) but is in a WHD download I picked up from somewhere. However, when I try and run it either from WinUAE or Hyperspin I just get the animated Insert Workbench screen...

This was also the case with another game (I forget which) I tried to add in by hand...I'm guessing I need to do something more complex maybe?

Any ideas?

If you get the load WB screen, that means your rom is either not formated correctly, or not correct. Is it a zip file? Open it up, what is inside it?

Hey guys. Ready for a weird error?

First of all, thanks for an excellent guide. Love playing with it, but I have a weird error.

Firstly, the window popped up minimized. I had it set to full screen but changed to windowed and back again. Now it seems ok. Just something to think about.

Secondly, I can not get the exit key to actually quit WinUAE. I have to press F12 and selecting Quit for it to exit. I have verified that the module has the correct windowclass etc. Fade does not complain that it does not find it, so it should be good.

Third, and I do not know if this is related to the second, since I have played with WinUAE for many years, I have a few WinUAE installations. I did do a clean one for this guide though and for simplicity sake, I downloaded WinUAE 2.6.0 and set it up as described.

When starting a game, all works just fine, but then I hit F12 to check a few things and noticed it says version 2.7.0. Thats odd. I verify that I have 2.6.0 and that is the exe I have pointed out for the emulator.

I bring up process monitor and check exactly which winuae.exe that is running. It is one from a totally different folder! So strange.

So I set the log to troubleshooting and yepp

Especially the last one. Process path. That is NOT the winuae.exe I specified as you can see above. Its even called winuae270.exe and not winuae.exe

The part above it is correct. That is the correct exe: "Run - Running: I:\Emulators\HyperSpin\Emulators\WinUAE\winuae.exe -f ....."

Weird huh? Any ideas? =)

Also, looking at the 2nd line, the DEBUG1 line, it says "16:03:38:761 | MD | DEBUG1 | +140 | Run - "winuae.exe -f "I:\Emulators\Hyp ...."

Could it be that it skips the path there and just runs "winuae.exe" ? I'm running windows 8.1 and if I go to search and just type winuae.exe, it does indeed start the 2.7.0 version that hyperlaunch starts.

While I'm hoping someone has an answer to the above, I've put together 3188 WHDLoad games/roms and a Commodore Amiga.xml database. Would this be of interest to anyone?

I've renamed all the "roms" to the name of the folder inside so it looks better, but not sure if this is the official naming standard (for themes etc).

Example

Please post your ...\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\Modules\WinUAE\Commodore Amiga.ini & the Settings.ini

To test, remove your PathToWorkBenchBase from the System Settings in HLHQ.

Then test again.

Would be interested, yes. But these names will not match the artwork. The artwork for the Commodore Amiga follows the existing database that includes the version number of the WHDLoad installed package of the game. Like this:
