ci2own Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Hi! as i'm seeing, all genres in databases will be unified (MAME too?), so i'm asking if i have to copy al Genre Wheel Images to each System Genre Wheel Folder or is there a common folder so we don't have duplicated files. Thanks in advance!
Metalzoic Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Rocketlauncher just uses the one genre folder as default I believe. They just go in there. Ahh... except I believe you also put a sub-folder for the sports/sport genres (sports/wrestling for example)

As i know each system has his Genre folder located in HyperSpin\Media\"System_Name"\Images\Genre

As i know each system has his Genre folder located in HyperSpin\Media\"System_Name"\Images\Genre Oh I assumed you meant the RL genres found in Rocketlauncher>media>genres They show on the Fade screen as the game loads. You're talking about using them as art for the genre wheel in HS? Then they go in Hyperspin>media>SYSTEMNAMEHERE>images>genre> in the Wheels and Backgrounds folders for each individual system.

I mean for HyperSpin. The only way to have genres in all systems is to add Wheel and backgrounds in each System folder then?
Metalzoic Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Yes that's how you do it. That isn't the only way though. You could have just a single main folder for each. Say media>mame>images>genres> wheels/backgrounds as the main and then Symbolically Link all the other system folders to it. If you don't know how to do that search for "Symbolic Links", there have been a couple topics on it lately.

Metalzoic Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Sure. Probably be just as fast to simply copy/paste the folders though. And they aren't big so they won't eat up a ton of space.
