David7065 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I've been having this issue for a while now and decided to re-download Hyperspin and start from scratch. I've looked around the forums and most of the threads state that the issue is not having a sound driver installed. I can hear everything Hyperspin is doing and upon clicking "Games", which is the only sub-wheel I have added, it returns to the Main Menu. Now all I did aside from what the default installation did was create a new database folder called 'Games' with the original 'Main Menu' xml renamed to Games inside of the folder. I used HyperHQ to make the only thing on the Main Menu the 'Games' sub-wheel. And there are no current filters set, such as only wheels with themes. Here's the log: 11:48:17 AM | HyperSpin Started 11:48:17 AM | Going FullScreen 11:48:17 AM | Checking for updates 11:48:17 AM | Update Check Complete 11:48:17 AM | Startup program unavailable 11:48:17 AM | Error intializing joysticks 11:48:17 AM | Menu Mode is multi 11:48:17 AM | Loading Main Menu.xml 11:48:17 AM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 11:48:18 AM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 11:48:21 AM | Loading Games.xml 11:48:21 AM | Loading Main Menu.xml 11:48:21 AM | No Games found in current filter 11:48:21 AM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 11:48:21 AM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 11:48:23 AM | Loading Games.xml 11:48:24 AM | Loading Main Menu.xml 11:48:24 AM | No Games found in current filter 11:48:24 AM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 11:48:24 AM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 11:48:27 AM | Exit program unavailable 11:48:27 AM | Quiting Hyperspin 11:48:27 AM | Bye! sandman7793 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Why in the world would you want to put everything from the main menu inside one wheel and name it games? The problem with this setup is how is hyperspin to know the file ext? Hyperspin was not designed to be setup like this. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk A boy stuck in a mans body
Polemicist Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 That setup is the worst idea I have ever heard. Also your comment about sound drivers is incorrect. There is an issue with HyperSpin that is caused by not having something plugged into the speakers. That is all. In my signature you will find the How to Install HyperSpin Tutorial. If you don't want to use HyperSpin and HLHQ in the way it was intended you won't get support as setting up something that way is nuts. Start from scratch again cause your current config won't do squat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! The main menu XML only has system names, it does not have any games by default. You can't just take the Main Menu XML and use it as a sub wheel XML. To make things worse the XML formatting from the Main Menu and the formatting used for sub menu wheels is completely different. Hyperspin quit on you because it was not able to find any games in your "Games" XML.
volumetric Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Also your comment about sound drivers is incorrect. There is an issue with HyperSpin that is caused by not having something plugged into the speakers. That is all. Actually this is incorrect, the bug can occur if you have either no speakers, or no sound driver.
David7065 Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 I was setting it up like this because, (correct me if I'm wrong), I believe Hyperspin can be used for more than just emulators. You could practically run anything from it using batch files correctly. Which I was planning to use the other sub-wheels on the main menu for Movies or various things like that. 32assassin, I deleted all of the system names and replaced it with Games as those are all just sub-wheels too aren't they? And there isn't any way to make other sub-wheels with systems in it or other sub-wheels within the main menu sub-wheels? Sorry if I wrote it out as confusing.
RetroRepair Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Well I'm having the same issue except I have speakers connected and windows sound works fine. I don't have a headphone jack, just line in, speaker out and mic in.
