Windows 10 direct boot into HS

Recommended Posts

I know there used to be several threads about booting directly into HS within windows 10, but I can't seem to find them. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'd like to hide as much of Windows as possible.

Thanks!

You mean other than just having HS in the Startup Folder?

Personally I have Tur-Volume adjuster launch from the startup folder first and have it set to launch HS 1 minute later so that Steam, HS and any other boot programs don't conflict.

Then I just keep the Win 10 login screen turned off and made a Pac-man avatar that shows in the boot-avatar window. That way the only windows thing that shows is the initial Win logo, but even that doesn't show unless the monitor is already warm.

If you have the Professional version of Windows you can use the 'Custom User Interface' group policy to start HyperSpin.exe instead of explorer.exe (windows desktop) at load.

I'm using Tur-volume as well... it's an awesome little program. What is the boot-avatar window? I've never heard of anything referred to as that. Ultimately I'm just trying to hide as much of windows as possible prior to HS starting up.

This is part of the info I'm looking for... do you have a link to a discussion with instructions, or any other details?

Thanks, guys!

I did that and worked well but joy2key and eventghost to name a few stopped working. I suspect these need explorer.exe as shell.

Joy2Key doesn't need explorer.exe to work, as I have that setup and working fully on my setup.

Event ghost will require explorer.exe - though you can likely find different ways to achieve the same things here that will work.
