jfprice30 Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 I have tried 2 different emulators epsxe and pcsxr and both give the same error message Cannot find rom.....with any provided extension All my other emulators and roms work with no problems any ideas. Total noob here so im most likely overlooking something stupid Any help would be appreciated
showstopper Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Sounds like an issue with your roms. So you have the iso and have setup your configuartion to point to the iso? How to update HyperLaunch
jfprice30 Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 Yes both are pointing to it. Also I have checked that seperatly I can run games not going through hyperspin The only thing thats throwing me is this "without provided extension" does this have something to do with it Also under settings it has slowboot does this have any effect on loading the roms?
Jonnykool Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Are you using Hyperlaunch? What version? Have you specified in hyperlaunch under your playstation emulator settings that the rom extension is ISO or whatever format your using? The error is telling you it cant find a filetype with the rom extension specified so it must be that.
Polemicist Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Keeping questions simple Does the emulator run by itself and play games? What file type is your rom set? --> if in a ZIP or 7z file what is the file format inside that file Are those file types included in your emulator settings (Found by clicking global menu on left and then clicking the Emulators tab scrolling to the emulator you want to use and double click it to edit it. If the file is compressed have you turned on 7z support? Those questions should get you up and running quickly.
showstopper Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Also make sure you have the bios and that you can run the emulator with just the bios. How to update HyperLaunch

Also if you are using 7z support you also need to specify the valid extensions INSIDE the 7z (or rar) file. You set the extensions in HyperLaunchHQ along with your emulator settings. Each extension separated by a pipe. For example 7z|rar|iso|cue
sha_doh Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Hello all! I know this is going to sound stupid, and it is my first post! thank you! i would like to say i fixed the very same issue by simply adding a * for my extensions... that is just * <---------- nothing else and TADA! i have since just put a star in all my configs and no hiccups so far! i hope this helps someone!
