phantasy Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 This is tested in .177 with a build of MESS without MAME from http://messui.1emulation.com as well as the MAME/MESS combo. MESS shows 2417 systems while vanilla MESS within MAME when filtering out Arcades is 2405. Why the difference in 12 systems?
JoyStickKilla Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Not sure what you mean? You took out arcade and it took the supported number of systems down? What's the issue?

Think he is saying a compiled MESS only version of MAME and standard MAME show a difference of 12 systems when both have arcade systems filtered out. rastan Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 do you know which systems they are? II seriously doubt the mame + mess builds are missing anything anyone would ever notice missing if they are missing.

phantasy Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 thatman84 hit it on target. I didn't remove anything. IF anyone downloads the lastest MameUI and the latest MessUI at my posted link, you would think that they would be identical except that MAME has arcades and Mess does not (similar to NeoMame having strictly NeoGeo). Even if only semi-official, you'd think it could have less and not MORE systems than official mame. As I don't plan to go through thousands of systems manually, I may search the tools that can make xml files (or DAT) from both and then hit that "diff" button in the tools I know to compare and find what the 12 systems are. Just thought someone may have already known the what and why.
