Hi guys and girls, I would like to contact the guys who are able to work on feature request for the MESS emulator but cannot find the best contact could anyone help please. Basically I want to ask if they could add an option in the neogeo cd emulation to completely skip loading screens. I know this is possible as Raine has this option but the emulation in raine is inferior to mess. Hopefully someone can help me come up trumps on this. Cheers everyone.

Hi mate I followed the link but it seems to go to the mame forum, is that the correct one. I get what your saying but they have included the option to fast forward the loading which is not true to the original all I'm hoping is that they could skip loading completely as an option. Surely the fast forward option would work for your msx games as well. Mine is activated by the 'insert' key. Thanks for your reply

Cheers phulshof I'll put a post on there and cross my fingers. Is it something that someone with mame programming skills could add in a one off build?

I would consider crossing ones hand with silver should someone decide to help out and add the function into a one off build....the load screens drive me nuts! but the cd reworked soundtracks are so much better than MVS/AES

I'm planning to look at this system soon anyway. I'm not promising anything, but I will have a closer look.

I checked the code, and checked with the MAME developers, but from what I understand there's no solution to be found in the MAME code. MAME's already loading the data faster than it should due to incomplete information regarding the DMA controller. Raine probably bypasses the BIOS code for CD loading, and directly copies the data to memory. Considering the way MAME works, a solution involving MAME would require a rewrite of the BIOS; I may have a search to see if someone already did that, because I don't know enough about the Neo-Geo system to do such a thing myself.
