Bezel Help -Didn't know where to post

Maybe I have done something wrong here that someone can pick up on? Should I not drag and drop files into this folder? This folder is where I have rocketlauncher looking for the file names related to the games. I mean it is clearly finding the bezel and loading it but its loading its own bezel with it.

Apparently my last post didn't make it through. All files are posted on rocketlaunche/media/bezels/mame. Problem I am having is MAME seems not to recognize (when not ran through rocketlauncher) anything except for the .lay file its self. Now I know you can't have a million .lay files with the same name in one location so this leads me to believe it should be able to read the file name and look into that file? Which then leads me to believe rocketlauncher looks for bezel files differently and less direct than MAME? Now if I leave the file zipped and put it in there Rocketlauncher doesn't recognize it at all. If I unzip it and put it in there I get the problem pictured above.

Now as this MAME layout file. Do I need to have one .lay file in my main folder that has my sub folders to the bezels to direct them there? Do I need to rename the .lay files from default and put all my bezels in one big folder? If the name of the .lay file isn't default will rocketlauncher even pick up the .lay file because its looking for the name default?

This makes it sound like you have put a bunch of MAME-Style bezels into your RocketLauncher bezel folder?

Only RocketLauncher-Style bezels go into RocketLauncher (typically a bezel.png, bezel.ini & sometime a background.png). RocketLauncher bezels don't use or have lay files.

I think you're scrambling 2 different things togther

Yep that makes perfect sense.

Oh! Ok this makes sense to me! So if I put these bezels in the MAME folder and tell rocketlauncher to do MAME bezels I should be good to go?

Did the YT video you watched not explain where to put them?

I had two conflicting videos. Problem not quite solved yet though. The good news is now I have MAME as a stand alone reading it awesome, but I now have rocketlauncher still not cooperating and is a little worse now. The games that were working are now having the TV bezel over instead of like in the other ones where it was under over under and the other ones that had the problem are simply not showing up. I do have everything set to mame bezels under modules and also read that default will get you mame as well. Nothing is set to rocketlauncher. I have them set to true as well. Just want to thank everyone again because I feel like I am being a pain with this issue and you guys are so awesome about helping.  Attached is the most recent log.

OK guys I got an answer from the Rlancher forum and sorry if I am long winded on this but I like Austins videos because I'm a detail kinda guy :-P. So the short answer is I had bezels turned on on rocketlauncher UI. The detail as to why I feel so dumb now and this makes total sense is: Mame is already putting up the bezel because it's set to true in MAME (or use bezels). In Rocketlauncher UI under the bezels tab, it was set to true which in turn, caused RL to try and use its own bezel even though MAME was using its before RL was. This would explain why when I changed the setting in MAME I could see boarders inside of the RL tv Bezel (image: Act F 2.png). The bezel around the RL bezel (or around the TV in the same image) can be explained by having the folders for my bezels in the same folder as the RL bezels (Rocketlauncher/media/bezels/mame) and it not understanding how to use the file because the bezel was meant for MAME not RL and it not understanding how to use said bezel.

I know thats kinda a long explanation but I know I get OCD when I try to figure stuff out and hate when I don't see a full explanation and just a do this to fix it :-P so I just wanted to make sure if anyone else has this problem and searches in the future that they can identify if they have the same problem and be able to fix it. So basically if you have a bezel around the TV bezel, then your bezel folders are in the wrong place (they should be in the mame folder not RL folder) and if you have a bezel inside of the TV default bezel then you have both the bezel turned on in RL and in MAME as a stand alone and need to turn off which ever bezel you don't want (TV bezel is from RL so turn of in RLUI if you don't want it and the other is MAME so turn off in options when you open up MAME on its own.)

Now would anyone like to join me in a celebratory beer?
