missionplanner Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Hello all! I've recently started to add bezels to some of the systems with my Hyperspin setup. What I'm noticing is that no matter what I select on the RLUI for settings they all stay the same size. I've tried to edit the actual .png to make it the resolution of my monitor but it doesn't change anything. I've even went as far as to dig up some of Austin's bezels and try those....same issue. EDIT* To clarify, you can see a bit of my desktop background on the bottom and top of the bezel. I can't get it to go fullscreen no matter what I try. I'm sure it's something dumb that I'm overlooking, but I figured I'd ask the big brains. Any help would be appreciated!
griffin518 Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 Love the avatar, and welcome to the community. Are you having this issue with RocketLauncher bezels? Usually this has something to do with resolution/aspect ratio of either the bezel or your monitor, caused by the bezel's ini file. What resolution are you running at (we'll use that to answer the aspect ratio question)? Also, it's a good idea to use a black background image for RL to prevent this type of thing in case it comes up again.
missionplanner Posted December 16, 2016 Author Posted December 16, 2016 Thanks for the response griffin!! I actually created a black background file at 1280x1024 (matching the monitor resolution I'm currently using until I throw it on the 32" i have specifically for the cabinet) but it doesn't show up. Maybe i'm not putting it in the right spot? Regardless I just went in a checked and (*facepalms) the png's that I edited to match the resolution were still sitting in my "temp" folder on my desktop. I guess I never moved them over to the RL bezel directory..... I always start troubleshooting at the CPU level instead of the human factors level....LOL Thanks again for the input! P.S. I would still like to figure out the background thing if you have time to assist.
Yeuxkes Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 You say that you have a 1280x1024 resolution, that's a 5:4 ratio and most bezels are made for a 16:9 ratio. That is your problem right there. The ini files that go with the bezel are only suited for one aspect ratio which is usually 16:9. You shall have to find a bezel pack for your screen resolution /aspect ratio or make changes to the pngs and ini files yourself.

The final "resting place" for the machine will be connected to a 32inch flat panel inside the cabinet. I moved the machine, to work on it, to another location that doesn't have a footprint big enough for that monitor so I'm using a 19" to run through everything and test it out for functionality. I have backed up all my 16x9 configs for deployment when I attach it to the 32". I've been creating different artwork/bezels/themes with gimp to prove that everything still works correctly on this 19" but i seem to have forgotten to move them from my staging area to the respective media folders. Guess I jumped the gun a little by going right for the forums. Sometimes its the stupid small things we over look.... well....me anyway. Thanks again

Sounds like you might have the file in the wrong location. Take a look at the screenshot of my setup, attached below. It needs to be in the _Default folder and the file name MUST start with Background. I have one for horizontal and vertical (note the separate folders), but you could just put it in the _Default folder and it would work.

This will help until I re-test on the actual monitor it will be on permanently. Appreciate your time sir!
