SupraKarma
So, every single game that has ' in the title does not display genre, publisher, or year when fading into a game using Rocketlauncher's fade feature. Perhaps this is a Rocketlauncher issue, HOWEVER, after looking at the databases, the entries for the games have ' instead of '. In other words, Fester's Quest will display as Fester's Quest in the xml itself. Bleasby was able to get it working for my NES games with a simple download of a hyperspin plugin (still not working for every other system as far as I can tell), but I don't understand why the lists don't just use ' instead of '. It's causing problems. It's not necessary. It looks terrible. Everything continues to work by manually editing the games to have ' instead. So why was this changed? Older hyperlist xml's don't have that. What was the point?
Yeuxkes
It's a requirement for the game name whenever there are special characters, you can leave it out for the description part of the xml. As to why it's needed you ask, have a look here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XML
SupraKarma
Thanks, I'll read up on that.
Guest
Actually it's the other way around. If the database entry uses ' - data won't display. If it uses & apos ; - the data will display. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
SupraKarma
I'm seeing an apostrophe both times. On my setup, I had to go through every single database and change ' to ' to make Fade ins work right.
SupraKarma
Weird. I can only speculate what's causing the issue then. Someone over at the RL forum posted about it also. Bleasby provided a fix, but it only fixed my NES games. I didn't notice my TG-16 and other stuff was still messed up until later.

SupraKarma
lol as if I can't just find and replace in notepad to change it back in like 10 seconds. But why not? Everything is working great, and my fade ins actually display all the info like they are supposed to. People keep telling me it's imortant, but if it serves no purpose, it really isn't. SupraKarma
Makes sense... I guess the only thing to do is switch all these databases back to ' and ditch Bleasby's fix. Sigh.
thatman84
Apologies if this is irrelevant but does the special entity effect the roms only feature also. As I did not see that as a concern here. I remember having a problem with the & character in a game name entry preventing the game from showing in the wheel. Apologies again if this is a separate issue. (My memory is a little non specific at times, gets annoying )
