Neo Geo games not launching in MAME 172

Hi,

I just updated from MAME 153 to MAME 172 (full update) and all the Neo Geo games are not launching in both HS and RL. I have the neogeo.zip file in the right place, and am frustrated as to why they are not launching. The screen just flashes for a second and returns to the game theme. Is there some new update of the neogeo.zip file that don't have?

Any help is truly appreciated.

Did you update all the files, folders and make a new ini. or did you just update the exe? My guess would be you're using the old ini possibly

Hi Metalzoic,

I put in a 172 completely updated set, as well as a fresh install of MAME 172. Then I replaced the Mame64.exe with artman999999's no nag version from here on the HS forum.

I'm going to try the original exe file again to see if that might work. As far as I know, everything is updated. I thought there might have been a neo geo bios update somewhere that I didn't get.

Make sure RL and the fresh install of MAME points correctly to the ROMs folder. If you had the roms inside the old MAME folder, you might need to move them to the new MAME roms folder.
