The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

hi all,

New to hyperspin.  My first introduction was from a video related to "TinyArcadeMachines", ie: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdvfz7dfGfY
Having never seen hyperspin before i was very impressed :).  I have an icade but after seeing that video and other bartop arcade examples, i need to Upgrade!

One thing tho.  hyperspin demos show actual game play.  Specifically referring to coin op games, (let's say Robotron 2084).  What about the demo it plays when not in use?  ie:  The Robotron demo walks through a number of intro screens plus high score ...etc.  I want hyperspin to play those when i'm not actively playing?  Many of the coin-op arcades have cool 'demo's while they are not in use (some include random sounds).  Many times, after playing a few games via Mame, i let it sit and have the demo play for awhile while I work on something else.  (does this make any sense to any one?).

Hyperspin will play through it's wheels and themes as an attract mode. It does not start and stop games to play through any in-game attract modes. So no intro screens, scoreboards, insert coin screens etc...

That isn't the actual game's attract mode running. That's the theme's video snap playing. So yes I suppose that most game themes will be displaying video of the game being played so it works out about the same.

I think what you'll need to do to accomplish this is to replace those intro videos which don't show the actual intro.  Most games have gameplay videos as their intro video.

The only frontend that kind of does what you want is Maximus Arcade, which can use your Roms as a screensaver.

There is also Tom Spiers mame screensaver, but it may not work on a recent OS.

That is the one feature from Maximus Arcade I thought was really cool.
