Hey All,

I have used Mame for may years and never figured out how to use high scores.  Is there a way to have the high scores save? How the heck is that done?  thanks guys

Ok I looked into this and I am running mameui64.exe.. says version .151 does that help???

Is there a walkthrough on how to do the high scores?

Also I went into the mame configure tabs and I am not seeing a freeplay option? Is there a free play option to set for all games?

I just upgraded my romset from 165 to 189. Got the new MAME as well. Got hiscores up. Reconfigured the keys, added bezels and up and running. I can recommend that.

Yeah, Mame is build such a way that you need the romset to match the version of the emulator. If you are stuck on 0.151 you need mame 0.151. 

Since there has been numerous changes to the roms over the years if you update to mame 0.189 you will end up with errors that mame cannot find certain files. 

 

TL;DR Update your romset and emulator at the same time.

Hey Guys,

OK I downloaded Mame .189 merged and mame 189 merged CHD... I backed up my old set.. and got it setup in hyperspin....  I downloaded the latest XML's I could find and replaced them all.  The games show up and run, however I have a couple minor issues..

1. How do I get the high score thing to work?

2. When I launch a game from HS, it often flashes to a black screen, see a mouse and screen goes black... the emulator is running behind the screen or something? I have tried hide mouse cursor and hide front end but not working?  I am using MameUI64.....  OK progress.. turned on GDI in video seems to work now :)

Hey,

So I have Mameuix64 and checked under MISC.. I am not seeing a High score plugin as past version had?  I am not sure if the highscore is working.
