RyuHayabusa78 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Need some help getting Yabause running through Retroarch. I've tried using SSF and had so many problems with it that I gave up and switched over to Yabause. I've got it working great for the most part. My USA set loads great but not my Japan set. After doing some investigation I've noticed that unlike my US set, all the Japan games have multiple .bin files. Looking at the Retroarch site it appears that Yabause does not support games that use multiple .bin files. So, I'm in a real bind here. I tried going to archive.org and unfortunately their entire Japan set is just like mine, multiple .bin files. So, my two questions are, what set would you all recommend looking for with games that use only one .bin file? Also, is there a quick way to convert these games into a single cue/bin format? I simply can't go back to SSF. Every time I have it running good it goes haywire and stops loading on me. Had someone who actually makes HTPC gaming rigs work on my system and he was pulling his hair out trying to get it to work. He gave up and just told me to switch to Yabause only to find out the Japan set I have won't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Yeuxkes Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Do you need Yabause for something particular? I use Mednafen/Beetle for saturn games and it works flawlessly. I don't have any multiple bin files since I converted my entire set to chd which is supported by that core. It has the benefit that you only have one file per rom so no more bin/cue files and the compression is excellent.
thatman84 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 There is a way to convert multi bin files into a single bin. Not done it myself, but the chd conversions seems the way to go now. Sorry to be vauge just letting you know theres options Official Hyperspin Tutorials Playlist HS Android Overview & Install HS Android Base Pack Download My Tutorials

I've made sure I have the MESS bios files in the system folder. Every time I select a game to load it says unable to load file. I've scanned individual files, the whole directory, etc but I can't get a single Saturn game to load.
Yeuxkes Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 If you goto core information you can see which files are required together with the md5 hash . It shouldn't be too hard to find those files with a google search.

Beetle will not even load the game and Yabause just shows a blank black screen.

I had to correct some paths in the cue files, some had the entire path saved. You only need the filenames since that way you can move the bin and cue around and they will always work.
RyuHayabusa78 Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 Funny enough, I got it working but not with Beetle. Yabause started working out of the blue for no reason at all. Now I just need to get it working in Hyperspin. I've got it set to use Retroarch with the retroarch.ahk. It's extracting the game files but not loading Retroarch. Such a pain in the ass.
