This is the mame xml databases full lists generator application :

Generate Mame xml full lists of any version you want.

Auto-Download all ini files necessary for generate Mame xml full lists.

You can create your own Files from mame (official) sorted by :
working or All games(including non-working)
number of Players (from 1p to 9p)
Genres (48 genre lists + 1 "new" genre list for games added from the current version)
Manufacturers (26 lists of the most important manufacturers)
Years (5 lists by decade of years)
Extras (Controls,Buttons,Sound Channels,Screens,Languages,Versions,Best games,In/Not in Dir,Others...)

 

Same thing for Folders:
Manufacturers , Genre , Years , Players , and all Extras :
These lists will have the same directory/lists created :
For ex : Genre "Fighter","Soccer","Adventure","Capcom","Sega","1970-1979","2p sim".... will have :
working or All games(including non-working)

Genres (49 genre lists)
number of Players (from 1p to 9p)
Manufacturers (26 lists max)
Years (5 lists max)
Extras (Controls,Buttons,Sound Channels,Screens,Languages,Versions,Best games,in/Not in Dir,Others...)

Hi,

 

I'm having a problem with the lists that are generated for Hyperspin, they're not working (Hyperspin jumps back to main menu, when choosing MAME wheel)

I used to have a Mr Stiller set (0.187) and noticed that his XML was created by your app, which made me search for this. It's brilliant, VERY VERY good.

But...

When I create an XML for my .191 set using you app, it does not contain any information for <description>, <manufacturer>, etc. How can this be added? can Your app do it? What am I doing wrong?

I've attached two screenshot of the XMLs i mean, .187 (working in hyperspin) and .191 (not working in hyperspin).

I hope you can help?

hi , it's curious ... do you use a custom mame executable ? the version of listversion tag not appears on second screen .

I might have found a fix....
I've just moved the Mame_XML_full_lists_generator.exe to the same drive as my MAME folder (previously i was running the .exe from my C; drive).

Upon opening the .exe file I now see the cartoon of birds winding a machine, it's scanning the mame folder. Before I didn't see this when i pointed the app towards my mame .exe location.
I think it''s going to work now. I'll post back here when i see the results

JACKPOT!!!!
It's now working. I have working and complete XMLs.

Last night i tried it 4 times, this morning once and none of them worked. This evening I moved the list gen .exe onto the same drive as my mame .191 folder (both are on the root of that drive) and it's working.

I hope, if anybody else gets the same issue as me that this solves it for them too.

I'm trying to generate the complete xml list for MAME 0.191 but every time I tried I get an error downloading the catver.ini. I might be missing something but is there any way to get a more verbose log to debug the problem?

Sorry  my code is not publicly "presentable" for the moment...I'm not a good coder but my apps works fine !

I code only with autohotkey language because originaly  i've learn this language to get working my emulators with hyperlaunch ...

But all yours request are welcome by PM or on this thread , and if usefull  , they will be added as soon as possible.

Hello,

Would it be possible to make the UI adjustable to fit in 640x480 screens?

I use your tool to upgrade the lists direclty from my arcade machine, and with the current display its not possible to use it, making it dependant to have another computer with a higher resolution to work, which is a bit annoying.

just one more question: how can i obtain a single, full xml containing all games list that are supported in mame (without filtering for genre, years etc) that works with Hyperspin (and containing year, manufacturer, if its clone or not)...?

When I use the tool it works perfectly when filtering, but I would also like to obtain all the game list in a single file.

You have to check "all" instead of "working" in mame tab and also check "all" to genre tab

I tried to use it on my cab and its fine with the resolution now! I believe a possibility to resize the application window manually would be best, but I leave this to up to you

Is there a way to generate the xml based on games description alphabetical order?

Hi , xml lists are sorted  based on zip filename according to catver.ini order.

But you can sort games by description into hyperspin by setting-up your Mame parameters in HyperHQ :

just remove "Use XML indexes" on "navigation/theme" from Mame "Wheel settings".

I generate those as part of the MAME XML databases. You can find them at RetroFE.
