chicagobears1977 Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Hello, ive been working on my cabinet and just recently installed a 2nd monitor for the marquee. Hyper marquee seems to be working fine but I can’t figure out when launching a game, the marquee monitor also displays the game. Any help would be appreciated C899A125-F179-4881-85E3-76176D79CA00.MOV
Spawk Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 That video did not work for me. But this sounds like a windows setting to me... try "extend these displays" instead of "duplicate these displays":
ninja2bceen Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Once you make that setting, if yo are still trying to get hypermarquee to work, check this out Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop
chicagobears1977 Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 Hi, The top post with the extend the displays is what I have, but I have them on top of each other and not side to side like you have them there. Don’t know if that makes a difference. I also noticed when I plugged the marquee it became the number one monitor and the main number 2, but I have number 2 as my main. I’ll try the other settings when I get home.
chicagobears1977 Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 I went into the window settings and have extend displays but it’s still showing the game on the marquee as soon as the game loads. Any help would be appreciated.
ninja2bceen Posted August 1, 2018 Posted August 1, 2018 So the game is on top if the marquee? Is the resolution for monitor one messed up?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop
chicagobears1977 Posted August 1, 2018 Author Posted August 1, 2018 The game also shows on the marquee once it loads, so you can see the game on both screens and when you exit the game the marquee comes back up. It’s only when you start to play the game the marquee disappears and shows the game on both screens. I’m not sure about the resolution

lildivaaa Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 chicagobears1977, you might want to check your mame.ini file under "OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS". The first option is "screen" and this is where it's designated to which monitor MAME will run the game from. I too run a setup just like yours. As an example, my "screen" is set for "\\.\DISPLAY2". Now, yours might be "\\.\DISPLAY1". So, check that option and let me know if it helps you out. Craig - Atlanta, Ga.
chicagobears1977 Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 Hi Craig, thanks for you response. I’ve been messing with that ini file and put display 1 , 2 but with no luck unless I’m putting it in the wrong spot. Can you show me your file to see if I have it in the correct spot. This is driving me crazy lol
lildivaaa Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 chicagobears1977, I've attached my mame.ini ... but here is a copy of that section in the ini I was talking about: # # OSD PER-WINDOW VIDEO OPTIONS # screen \\.\DISPLAY2 aspect auto resolution auto view auto screen0 auto aspect0 auto resolution0 auto view0 auto screen1 auto aspect1 auto resolution1 auto view1 auto screen2 auto aspect2 auto resolution2 auto view2 auto screen3 auto aspect3 auto resolution3 auto view3 auto mame.ini
chicagobears1977 Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 I tried just like you have. I even changed the display to 1 and still nothing. I see that you have number of screens to 1. I’ll try putting it to 1
lildivaaa Posted August 2, 2018 Posted August 2, 2018 Oh yes, I forgot that part. Yes, number of screens should be set to 1. But this is just for MAME's purposes. It doesn't interfere with Hypermarquee.Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
chicagobears1977 Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 Petting one monitor seems to be working but the game now displays on the marquee
chicagobears1977 Posted August 2, 2018 Author Posted August 2, 2018 I believe I just got it working. I used your ini and enabled marquee now it’s working properly. Thanks for your help Craig and everyone that posted. Really appreciate it. Using the 2 monitors was the problem I see now
ninja2bceen Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Great now your turnHow big is your second monitor, where did you get it, how did you mount itSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop
chicagobears1977 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 Hi, its 27 1/2 inches. I got it from a company called vitrolight from eBay. Paid $460. Plugs straight into the video card via hdmi or vga simple install. I did modify the cabinet since the lcd was about 1/2 inch to small for the marquee, but nothing major.
ninja2bceen Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 How did you go about modding it and how did you mount it?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Advance the cause to 100%. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/ Planet Geekdom, Subscribe for Tutorials! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdcby-s2GwriaOHGmVC2vGA?sub_confirmation=1&app=desktop
chicagobears1977 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 I cut out about a 1/4 out of each side of the marquee and mounted it with the existing parts for from the original marquee. I just moved the bottom holder out and extended about half an inch.
chicagobears1977 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Posted August 6, 2018 It’s an original dig dug cabinet if that helps
