Very Strange Problem; Mame Crashes

Hello. First of all let me say this forum is very easy to access, thanks for that lads.

Now for the problem...

Hyperspin starts and everything just fine, but once I enter "MAME" the program just closes immediately. Can't even get to the game selection wheel for MAME games.

The strange part is: HyperLaunch and HyperLaunchHQ have no problem loading my games.

In HyperLaunch, testing the game is not at all a problem, but I've noticed if I click the little box (shown below)

I get an error stating that it cannot find the file Hyperspin/Settings/MAME/Emulators.ini

Here's where things actually get a little more strange, so I do manage to find Emulators.ini inside Hyperlaunch, so I put that in it's desired location

(MAME/Emulators.ini) and then I get this:

*Edit: Yes, everything in HyperLaunchHQ seems to be functional and directed properly, but feel free to prove me wrong, maybe I'm missing

something...*

Odd as that seems, testing the game in Hyperlaunch still works. I was figuring, that perhaps this might somehow be linked to the reason why MAME crashes on HyperSpin for me...

Can any kind soul please help me? I'm soon going to be building my cabinet and I'd love if I could have this fixed before then. Thanks. :vollkommenauf:

EDIT: I've now come across another strange thing... I tried setting up VBA emulator (yes I've done everything properly according to tutorials) and now as I click on GameBoy Advance in the HyperSpin wheel, it just starts back up at the Hyperspin GameBoy Advance wheel, and doesn't show the game list. It would appear as if everything I configure, Hyperspin automatically disallows me from using, because things like N64, Master System, and everything else is working fine as I do not have them configured. Same would happen with MAME before I configured it as well. I would now think that I'm actually missing a step or something. What could it be??!

welcome to the forums please not that

1. please post in the correct forum when having problems launching games, this will help other people in the future when they search for help.

Hyperspin / emulator help

Hyperlaunch support

2. whenever you ask for help please post your hyperlaunch log

http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?26044-HyperLaunch-Read-Before-Posting!

3. don't ever set up a path in Hyperlaunch, this is the Hyperlaunch 2.x way of doing things

you will create many problems for yourself if you do that.

4. your VBA problem

you are either missing or have an XML with a incorrect name.

or

you have a game filter on and Hyperspin is not finding any of your games.

Since Hyperspin can't find any games on your wheel it kicks you back to the main menu

And as for not setting up a path in hyperlaunch, what do I do then to get Mame working?

By the way everything seems to be setup in this program, it confuses me how you guys don't just make standalone versions for x64, x32, and Mac?

Why does everybody need to be put through a million processes?

a Mac version LOL, I personally want an Android version I wan't to run Hypespin on my phone.

Hypespin is a standalone version, their is nothing you need to install. What you need to install is most of the 3rd party software Hyperspin uses to run games.

the million (installation) process you need to do will be specific to your machine, I can't give you my set up because you will have to move all your roms to match my paths and use the same path and emulators I'm using. Among other things.

I could be wrong ( thats why I need to see your hyperlaunch log NOT THE HYPERSPIN LOG YOU POSTED)

I think you are using an older version of Hyperspin

version less then 1.3.2 use to have Hyperlaunch located at Hyperpin/hyperluanch.exe

Using the latest version of hyperspin (1.3.2) if Hyperlaunch is placed inside of Hyerpin, it should be in its own folder.

Hyerspin/Hyperlaunch/hyperlaunch.exe

I recommend you read this

how to set up Hyperspin and HyperHQ

how to set up Hyperlaunch (the backbone of hypersin)

or

skip all the need to know info, and follow

a very straight forward tutorial

http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?29481-How-to-install-HyperSpin

once you have Hyperpin 1.3.2 and Hyperluanch 3.0.x.x. installed and in the correct folder structure and Hyperpsin is able to find Hyperluanch

(hopefully you take the time to learn how to update Hyperlaunch and all the Modules..... yest its covered in the straight forward tutorial)

you can easily install MAME using Gigapigs video tutorial
