Confused by HS database

Recommended Posts

I have never used HS in its current form, so I've been testing things out. I put all of my SNES roms in a folder and downloaded the newest HS SNES database. I used Don's Hyperspin Tools to rename everything using that database file, and I find that it's not actually finding some of the games I have. For instance, I have "Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting" or "Spider-Man and Venom - Maximum Carnage" which I know are real games, yet they're not on the database list when I audit my games in RocketLauncher. There's not red or green, they're just not there. What am I doing wrong?

Hyperspin uses  No intro roms and names,  if you use the crc to  rename your roms you will find that

Spider-Man & Venom - Maximum Carnage (USA) is their

if you are using fuzzy logic to rename your roms it might not always find a match

Street Fighter II Turbo - Hyper Fighting  might just be under the name Street Fighter II Turbo

this are all the Street Fighter II games included in the No-Intro Dat

their is no SF with the Hyper Fighting    name.;  I'm not sure why it was excluded it might be

the beta  version,  if you wan it with the Hyper Fighting name you can always add it to your personal SNES  XML.

Thanks, you were right, I switched to a No intro set and everything looks good. I had one more question, didn't want to make a new topic. If I'm using a DS4 controller, it works when setting up the controls in HyperHQ, but in HS it is super sluggish, sometimes it will just spin the wheel non stop, where keyboard doesn't have these issues. Is there a fix for that?

HS joystick/pad support is dodgy. It was made to work with joy2key etc where keypresses are bound to controllers, direct pad support that is fairly standard now has these issues. I found using the joystick support in the hyperspin start up script application works best, you can find it in the download section and check out ninja2bceens tutorial for setting it up.
