Yardley Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Hi all, is anyone here using LEDBlinky through both HS and RL? In other words, does anyone have it enable in both HS and RL? I've always used it only through RL but I recently purchased a Pixelcade marquee which actively changes as you scroll through the HS wheels. LEDBlinky needs to be enabled in HS to allow this, but since I have it enabled in RL as well, it plays the button animations/speaks the button assignments twice upon game launch now. If I disable LEDBlinky in RL, it works fine but I lose the ability to send systems such as CPS1 to LEDBlinky as MAME. If I disable LEDBlinky in HS, then the Pixelcade marquee won't actively display the different systems/games as I am scrolling through HS. Wondering if anyone has any work arounds for this?
Spawk Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 This is only when you very first run HS right? After selecting any game RL should take over... even when exiting game back to FE? I really need to get my hands on a 2nd monitor and try some of this stuff! I thought you just keep ledblinky disabled in hq, but have the exe load (either through startup script or HQ's load program).

Read my post again, Blinky has to be enabled in HQ for the Pixelcade to work while you’re scrolling through the wheel. Yes if I disable it in HQ it works fine through RL, this is how I have always used it in the past but now I need it to work through HQ so that it works when scrolling through the wheel but also leave it enabled in RL so that RL handles the commands when launching a game this way I can use RLs more powerful features mainly the “system name” option for MAME subsystems like CPS1.
Spawk Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 Yes I understood quite well, thank you. That is precisely what I am saying. Everything you need should be configurable in LEDBlinky... so you don't really need it enabled in HQ, just load the LEDBlinky.exe

How is LEDBlinky going to know which marquee image to display as you scroll through HS without communicating with HS?
Spawk Posted January 12, 2021 Posted January 12, 2021 There are "FE Options" and "HyperSpin" tabs right in LEDBlinky... And "Pixelcade" stuff is all in the "Integrations" tab. Just telling you how other people have it set. I can stop helping now, maybe someone else will chime in.

I understand you're trying to help and I appreciate it, however, you can't just start LEDBlinky.exe (without enabling LEDBlinky in HyperHQ in the tools tab) and expect it to do anything. I just tried it to 100% rule out the possibility and it didn't work, as expected. Without enabling it in HyperHQ, LEDBlinky isn't receiving any events/commands from HS so it won't perform any functions. Of course if LEDBlinky is enabled in RL it will work once a game is launched because RL will send that event to LEDBlinky, but nothing will happen if you're simply scrolling through HS unless you enable Blinky in HyperHQ. And this is the problem I posted about, if you enable it in both HS and RL, the launch events will be sent twice. First by HS and then by RL and so you end up with double speech/button animations every time a game is launched.
