No need to defend the new ThemeBuilder.  It looks incredible and an amazing leap forward in functionality.

But its also frustrating that HyperTheme gets an update that clearly caters to users wants and expectations while HyperSpin does not.

The HyperSpin (menu) component of the beta seems to be the lowest priority. It feels like it was hastily developed just for the purpose of using the HyperSpin name on a radically different front-end.

They’re building HS2 from scratch. It’s going to take time. Putting more energy into Themebuilder now makes sense because you have people actively building themes. Doing it this way means artists can work on themes while that other stuff gets done later.

I’m not part of the development team. I don’t speak for them. I’m just a themebuilder. I don’t have insight as to how they’re going to move forward on what. But I can see where they’re going and it’s awesome.

I dont expect much from beta. The plane is being flown while building the engine right now. I just consider it a sneak peak as to where it’s going. Having it web based is awesome and there will be more sizzle to the steak than before. It’s just going to take time.

But at the end of the day, most members on here, just want Hyperspin 1.5 updated, not the Reinvention of the Wheel...

It's not an option.

HS was built on Flash.

And thats why it needs updating, not a Redesign.......

What should have happened, was a Poll with members, asking what they wanted, then go with the top vote.

That way, it be the a Majority Decision, not something being forced onto people.

That doesn't mean a new version should follow the path of becoming a LaunchBox clone. It should maintain compatibility with everything that has already been done, so there's no need to rebuild everything from scratch. Maybe a theme converter utility could help eliminate the need for Flash in existing themes. If that's not possible, then themes would be the only feature that really needs to be reworked from scratch. Also, RocketLauncher should be present as a built-in feature, and we shouldn't overlook the cache system (why that LaunchBox crap?) and the unnecessary encryption nonsense.

It's explained why they went the way they did in the video.

I think it's going to be awesome. But it's going to take time.

It has nothing to do with the themes.  I'll admit that initially it was disappointing to loose all the flash themes but the community quickly stopped complaining about that.

It makes sense to stop supporting it and I believe most forum members are not opposed.

Flash has not been mentioned in HS2 complaints for a long while.  I hope that someday soon we will stop getting responses like this.

Great idea but the overall community response has not been favorable. So, future development and decision making will (most likely) be in private with select individuals that share the dev's vision.

So it will end up being a Dictatorship. Something that most members dont want, being forced onto them.
