daggerlee Posted July 2 Posted July 2 Hey all, I hope all is well with everyone. I am a platinum member who has been using HS front end since 2008. My arcade is still running strong but I wanted to do some upgrades. I have grown tired of waiting for about 30 seconds for a game to boot on initial launch and the slight controller input lag had me frustrated at times. So I decided to build a computer that will run off a NVME hard drive for faster speed. When I decided to start building a new HS front-end from scratch I was kinda exited to hear about HS2. So I downloaded to beta and started to work. It is just a dedicated MAME machine with no other systems. Well I found the latest MAME and created a path in HSHQ and I thought I created a path for my roms. Well I can run the games when running MAME on its own but this new version sees the games but they wont play. The list of 700 games that I think I installed on my HSHQ is there. I am not sure if I should do this being only a beta version. Is there a tutorial on how to put this new version of HS together or am I wasting my time?

My HS2 runs alongside HS1 on my cab and I test new builds when they are available. If you want to test it aswell then great but if you are looking for something that works now then a beta is not for you.
Tribe Fan Posted July 6 Posted July 6 I would do what gigapig suggested and run them simultaneously in Windows while tinkering with new features as they’re released. You might also try dual booting Windows with Batocera, which is a standalone Linux based OS/gaming front end that works perfectly in a cab (without a lot of the frustrations Windows introduces).
