Unknown50862 Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 I don't see why you would have a hell of a time. Something like that should be very easy. Can't say I remember the exact issue, but what I do remember is that I couldn't get it working for one system, so I decided to leave it off of all of them as to be consistent. It is still on my list of things to do however. damageinc86 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Well hmmmmm. I wonder how many games require multi-tap and which systems needed them for certain games? Maybe you could have a multi-tap required list also? Of course more work, so i dunno.
phulshof Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Ok, MAME is done and on the FTP site. Let me know if you need any changes or any other help.
klizine Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I've completed/documented the entire N64. With my organized documentation we'll be able to create an .xml in the future with ease. I'll release it when I get some help with a few more systems. I want to release it all all at once instead of 1 by 1. If anyone wants to help me with this project let me know. The more help I get the faster the release. I'm currently working on SNES. Short video demo of N64: Looks dope... what exactly do you need assistance with ?
KrillCaz Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Looks dope... what exactly do you need assistance with ? I'm currently working on SNES; I'm about 300 games in. I need help testing each game, checking what's the maximum amount of players each game can utilize, then documenting it. These older systems -- especially obscure titles -- lack such documentation.

JayDog Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I've been trying to get these controller icons to work for mostly the default themes and i'm having no luck. I know they have to be dropped into an unused artwork folder and positioned correctly using Hypertheme then called on by using said art with the XML names. That's not the issue, the problem i'm having is that most of these default themes if not all of them are using every Artwork folder. I've tried combining artwork with the background since I figured all they did was sit in the background but I was wrong about that, each one I tried to edit caused an addition problem. Could someone please let me know if there's a way around a theme utilizing all artwork folders to implement this # of players icon? I really want to use this feature.
damageinc86 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Sounds like you might have to simplify the themes by combining two artwork images into one png. Space them out in photoshop the way they should be in the theme, and save. that way it could free up an artwork folder.

It was probably just a bad idea to mess with the background and an artwork image in one png. Thanks.
damageinc86 Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I had run out of artwork options on a theme I was making once, and it had two static images, so I just spaced them out to what they would have been in the theme, and saved them together as one png. So it only took up one artwork slot in hypertheme. Rather than do all this image theme artwork stuff for controller icons, I would just rather have a genre xml of all 4 player, all 2 player, all 1 player, etc. So I could see all of a certain category at once.
JayDog Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Yeah, I figured out my problem which was just the Artwork layers themselves. I had overlapping that looked ugly but swapped artwork layers and fixed the problem. This may sound silly but I think i'll still add 1-4 Player genres for each system in addition to what i'm working on now. If anyone is interested in an already complete, accurate, and renamed set for these controller icons for the N64 (USA, PAL) I can upload them to the FTP upon request. No need for multiple people to do the same work Working on the complete set of Sega Dreamcast (USA, PAL) controller icons so if you're interested let me know.
JayDog Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 No, unfortunately not. If I make some or find a few you'll be the first to know.
damageinc86 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Ok cool. To me, player genres will be the way to go, because when I'm looking for 4 player games, or 2 player games, i'll want to be going through all of them, not having to hunt and peck out in the main genre with controller icons randomly popping up.
