SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So Im trying to make a theme. I have a great idea however Im finding it hard to put this into practice. I want to use flash and have made a .swf background. Problem is that it does not show up in the theme I have made the dimensions 1024x768... does anyone know what else it is that Im missing or what i need to think about?? Simply Austin's YouTube
dark13 Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Did you choose "actionscript 3.0" while creating project in flash? Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Sorry no. I only used this site to convert my files into .swf As you may see it does not give me the option for anything like this. Is there a program o somehting I can do to make this happen correctly? Simply Austin's YouTube
zomboided Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 What exactly is the thing you're trying to do? - ie what's the source material you're converting from, what's the Flash animation you're hoping to achieve? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 right well I thought I would just go ahead and download Adobe Flash Pro..... I have just been figuring this thing out and now I think that I have it. Although I have issues with the flash being rendered in HS. It seems to be a load of jitter as it plays, this also makes the vid which plays with the theme jitter at the same time too. Im not sure what it is that Im doing wrong and what settings to change? So far I have it set to publish in, -ActionScript 3.0 -Flash Player 11.2 -24FPS -1024x768 Is there something Im missing here? Simply Austin's YouTube
dark13 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Are you importing a flv in flash to make an embedd swf video or are you importing layers in flash to animate it? In the first case you'll have some problems due to flv compression (higher flv bitrate helps), in the other case graphic should be almost "perfect". Check import options and select "loseless" for all layers/images used. For framerate chose 15fps,30fps,60fps or 120fps. In hyperspin it should not be that important as it seems to read .swf as fast as it can but syncronizing framerate with monitor refresh is always a neat idea Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 Ok so what I was doing was taking a FLV file and transforming it into SWF. I have never messed with flash before so for me this is very new. The FLV is 2 seconds long so not very big at all What I dont understand is that out of HS the SWF file runs smooth as butter. The second I add it to my theme it jitters like hell. Also I have noticed, not sure if this helps, but if I do add it to the theme and I press an arrow, Ctrl or certain keys the swf file runs smooth as butter and so does the vid preview. This is VERY confusing Much thakjs for the help so far guys Simply Austin's YouTube
dark13 Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 What's your hardware? Maybe the .swf is way too "heavy" for your rig or you have multiple .sfw in your theme and the cpu is struggling with it. Probably you should share the .flv and .swf to have more feedback, the FTP seems to be still down As far as I can remenber framerate should not be an issue as flash export movie with same framerate but try to match project's FPS and FLV's FPS. Are you trying it on a theme in HS? Hypertheme is using a lower resolution and animation/images can jitter while moving Automatizing infopanels creation from .csv files for HTPCs themes (look at infopanel tutorial.zip on the ftp in dark13 folder) PNGs to SWFs automatized flash scripts Hyperspin Wheelset automatized template (photoshop's variables + batch) Aeon nox 4.13 W.I.P. hyperspin skin
SIMPLYAUSTIN Posted September 25, 2014 Author Posted September 25, 2014 My Hardware on the PC I am working on is: i5 OC to 4.2Ghz 16GB DDR3 EVGA 570 SO I cant see there being too much trouble. Im testing it actually in HS. I have got another theme, deleted everything in it except for the Vids and the setup files. Only artwork on show is the vid border and the background (the one Im trying to change). Give me a sec and I will try and upload the files so you can have a look Simply Austin's YouTube
