gamezaddic Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 What I wanted was to have a separate category for Capcom Games and also wanted to be able to try out the newest Final Burn Alpha emulator instead of using mame. Why would you want to do this? -To remove some clutter from the mame wheel -To be able to take advantage of Final Burn Alpha's graphical filters -Just to have em in one place What I did was separate all the wheels and themes from mame and put them all in one place. Then made a Capcom Play System.xml which includes CPS 1,2,3. Then went into the mame.xml and removed the capcom games for redundancy purposes. Then made a main menu theme and CPS wheel. What's included: Main menu theme and wheel Capcom Play System.xml Mame xml with clones with Capcom games removed Capcom Play System Themes and Wheels Final Burn Alpha module made by DJVJ Uploaded to ftp. It came out to 82 in total. I went with the U.S version of the game where I could and only went with the Euro if there was no U.S version. I did not include the japanese quiz games and euro and japanese clones except for the darkstalker's games.
Xx_Strike_xX Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I downloaded this to try it out, I get a error. Error at line 506. Line text: Close Process Error: Duplicate label The program will exit any help with this would be great [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
gamezaddic Posted December 21, 2011 Author Posted December 21, 2011 I dunno guys, I tested it out in hyperspin before uploading and am getting no errors. This is to work with hs 2.0 Put Fba folder in hyperspin/Emulators/Capcom Play System folder Put main menu wheel in hyperspin/Media/Main Menu/Images/Wheel Put main menu theme in hyperspin/Media/Main Menu/Themes Put themes in hyperspin/Media/Capcom Play System/Themes Put Capcom Play System Wheels in hyperspin/Media/Capcom Play System/Images/Wheels Put Capcom Play System .ahk script in hyperspin/Modules/Capcom Play System Put Capcom Play System .xml in hyperspin/Databases/Capcom Play System (Optional) Swap filtered MAME.xml with current MAME.xml The filtered MAME.xml is the one with clones included with Capcom Games Removed.
horde5150 Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 Is this, or something like it still around in 2014? Seems a bunch of stuff in these forums doesn't exist anymore, or location has been drastically altered.
Polemicist Posted February 22, 2014 Posted February 22, 2014 CPS games are all inside MAME. And if you looked a little harder you would have found talk about it and then just copied your images from the MAME wheel to the CPS wheel.
Fromlostdays Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 To that end is there a program to accelerate the process? In other words something that can copy and paste multiple files (IE artwork) based on... I don't know... an xml or the files in the rom folder? I think I had one years ago when I was still setting up wheels but that was a computer and two operating systems ago. I'm 100 percent sure this has been discussed before and I've looked but I don't even know what to call such a program or what keywords to use to search for it. Thanks, Walter:beerglass:
Dogway Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 CPS games are all inside MAME. And if you looked a little harder you would have found talk about it and then just copied your images from the MAME wheel to the CPS wheel. I think that answer is a bit harsh to say the least. Probably the guy is looking for a theme, as I am too. I also decided to gather major groups of roms separately, those are CPS, Zinc, Naomi (and its brothers), and Namco. Leaving mame to old games mostly. @aletterfromthelostdays: I do a lot of file management in Explorer, I use a program called Duplicate Cleaner, but instead of delete I move the matching names to a separate folder. For selecting files included in a xml, I got a bit creative, I deleted everything inside the XML except the filename using regex, then using Bulk Rename Utility I make use of the filenames of the XML like for example, change.txt inside sfiii.zip|-sfiii.zip. If you used a CPS.xml then inside your MAME rom folder only the CPS roms will change their name, with this dummy character it's easy now to select files and take them to a separate folder. my theme:
ledgerewskie Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 my theme: Where can I find this theme, Dogway?
Styphelus Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 You should use the Arcade Cabinet by Gibbawho for the Unified Mega Theme. It's a lot nicer than the one you're using.
