Not to the level of the USA, at least not in most of the civilized world. There's a reason the USA ranks 46th in freedom of the press and 17th in corruption. Corruption, suppression of the the press, monopoly of big corporations, political contributions, removal of personal freedoms and a misinformed public = recipe for disaster.

It's like modern feudalism.

Here in italy is the same s**t. And people's answer is the same: every year less people go to vote. Honestly here in europe things are even worse, USA has always been a substantially "unbalanced" country, where the word "individualism" was too close to "stupidity" (extreme individualism becomes stupidity) but europe had chosen a system that took the best of capitalism and the best of socialism (BTW communism and socialism is NOT the same thing). It was not perfect but the result was an almost balanced society. Right now in europe social state is going to be dismissed and it will create a society more unbalanced than the USA's one because of the different "culture".

This is no more "politic", this is a matter of being "sane" or being "idiot", not some discrepancies between two different "philosophies". You can take a tory and a wigs, a republicans and a democratic, a fascist and a communist and ask them how they would like sosciety to change: you'll get pretty similar responses. It's no more a "class fight", classes are going to be "flattened". Just check how the wage in automobile industry in USA has changed in the last 10 years: basically it was halved)

This is not "feudalism", this is "restoration". The 11/9 started it just as vienna's congress started it back in 1815. Back then europe's people lost all rights gained troughtout the french and others revolutions. The same thing is happening right now. The word "state" was initially used by an italian, niccolo' machiavelli. He used this word referring to the "prince" and his court, during years the word changed its meanings to "geographical limits and people living inside it" but states are still governed to pleasure the "princes" and their courts...

Last time I checked the UE said that about 50% of the european's corruption cases where located in italy lol. Some days ago 37 people, including the previous rome's mayor went under investigation for bribery, another investigation regarding bribes is related to expo 2015 in milan and even the MOSE project in venice sees corruption cases. If you see italy as a country ruled by maphia you'r not being "racist", you are just picturing a scenario that is really close to reality. I'm not a simpleton, things like these happen in every country of the world but the main difference is here when a politic is caught in bribing episodes he is NOT politically "dead", he just "jumps a turn" like in monopoly.

BTW thk i LOVE your avatar :D :D :D
