Anyone know of a resource for orchestral game music?

I'm aware of a couple of people on youtube but does anyone know of a good place to get game music? There are places for remixes such as OC Remix, or awesome rock/metal versions like Dwelling of Duels, but what about Orchestral or Arrange/Re-Arrangements?

I've been working throughout the year on a re-make of Knights of the Round and I'm nearing the point of needing music. If necessary I can use the old music but I think I might need further permission from Capcom on top of the permission I was already given to make the game in the first place.

Here's a non-final image of the Logo mark.

Game itself isn't much to look at . Colored dummies attacking colored dummies with sticks.

I'm hoping to have it visually presentable by the summer. Then It's bug testing.

I've got everything covered except for the music.

The site doesn't even have to list any KOTR music on it. Even finding people interesting in making the music would be good. On top of just having a reference for great music.

I would help you out dude, but I am already doing a full soundtrack to an indie game right now but I DO rock remakes of Nintendo games and I have a Digital audio Workstation with orchestral instruments that are capable of making stuff that sounds like the soundtrack to The Castlevania: Lords of Shadow OST.

I made this last Halloween:

Nice!

Yeah that's another unsurprising thing I'm running into. Anyone who would be willing to volunteer their time already has their time taken with are pay or volunteer work (depending on the project). My search continues!.

Would not like to derail the 3d but i'm curious :P

Will it be a free or a commercial game? On which platform? Will it be 3d?

Knights of the round was a really good game :)

Free download.

PC and Mac, Linux if it doesn't make us want to die.

It will be 3d but play just how it did in the past. Imagine the game as it was and just replace everything with 3d models.

It was a pretty good game! We started this as a project for ourselves, then contacted capcom and basically said 'we're making this for ourselvs regardless but would it be okay if we released it for free to everyone else when it's done. And their answer was basically; 'As long as you clearly state we did not commission it and it doesn't have anything terrible in it'.

Wow, capcom has been very nice, sega acted like a total asshole with the coders of streets of rage remake: no answer to coders asking for permission and a cease and desist letter the day before it was going to be released.

If you need additional help to make few static objects just ask :)

Consider a thing: It can't be worse than sega ages "golden axe" for ps2 uahahahahhaha ;)

I might be able to help you out, I've got 2 weeks left till i finish Weekly Beats for the year, then i'll have a lot more time on my hands. Might have to source a decent orchestral sample set, as i do very little orchestral stuff. If you're open to something not orchestral, it might make things a bit easier. Either way, i'll have a look and listen to KOTR and see what's going on with the soundtrack.

If you want to give it a shot that would be awesome. Everyone who contributes to the project will be credited.

This complete sound track represents all the music that would be needed.

The Super Nintendo version sounds a bit more lively but is also missing the title screen music (they just have a single orchestra hit instead for some reason.)

I have dabbled in music production in the past. I can basically take midi data and change the instruments on it but I can't write or play anything original. If you use VSTs in your music;

http://vis.versilstudios.net/vsco.html If you go to their main page and scroll through they have a few different free options so you could give a shot at making it sound orchestral. If you want to throw some rock in there and make some awesome remixes then go for it.

Should you decide to get involved remember that there's no rush to get it all done instantly and i you somehow did manage to get it all done fast you'd be waiting a few months to see the release of the game.

End of September 2015 is our optimistic target at this point
