The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

The last two years - finally things fell into place

Hello everyone. I normally don't go about throwing my personal business on the intarwebz, but there are quite a few of you that I feel I know/knew fairly well over the years minus the last two or so, and a few of you that I know/knew before HS. I started out here making a few MAME themes, which I was very proud to see are now a part of HyperSync. I also made a few other random things whenever I had the time. Mattedsmith and Rondar especially helped me out quite a bit with theme building in general and getting the general gist of how to make proper themes. Anyway, the last two years have turned my entire life upside down. It started with my now ex-wife and I separating. After a few months of attempting to salvage our marriage, I gave up and moved on. In the months that followed, I met the love of my life whom I've been with for over a year and a half now. Monday, after almost a year of dragging through the court system, my custody battle for my three children finally came to an end. Much to my ex-wife's disdain, I am proud to say that I won. I now have full joint custody of my three children. Now that all of that bullshit, between the divorce and the custody is over and done with, I can finally move on with my life. A big part of my life just a couple of years ago was HyperSpin. It gave me something not only to work on and keep me busy, but a constant that helped me retain my sanity. I've popped in from time to time, checking on things and seeing if HS and all of the talented coders and artists associated with it were still chipping away at keeping HS the most beautiful and robust front end ever to grace the internet. Although I didn't frequent the forums or make much in the way of artwork for HS, I have tinkered with my HS here and there over the last couple of years. I also realized during my hiatus that I didn't take the time to thank a lot of the people here for the work they've done that has made my HS setup not only beautiful, but functional as well. I don't want people to think I'm kissing ass here, but I would like to thank the following and if I miss anyone I apologize:

BBB - For creating HS to begin with

djvj - For making HyperLaunch what it is today, making it so I don't have to manually mount ISOs anymore and being patient with me a few years ago with the N64 module/fade screens

brolly - For pushing me to improve a couple of my themes, the Open Beats of Rage one especially

mattedsmith - For helping me make a couple of my themes just drop dead gorgeous with your Flash talents, like the 4-en Raya theme

Rondar - For also pushing me and giving excellent constructive criticism on my theme making

THK - For cutting out a few things for me and helping with a couple of vector pieces

baddeolv - For pushing me to actually upload my themes for approval instead of just throwing them on the FTP

zero dreams - For the amazing Fade Project, between it and HyperLaunch, I never have to look at an emulation window, or my ISOs unzipping ever again

Finally, to the HyperSpin community as a whole - Everyone here contributes in some way, whether it's artwork, additional support programs for HS, bezels, the list goes on and on. This is one of the most giving and amazingly tight-knit internet based communities that I have ever had the pleasure of being a part of. For that I thank you all.

Now as I step down off of my soapbox lol, I would like to say that I am here to stay. Now that my life has finally calmed down and gotten to a point where I can concentrate on creating artwork and helping where I can, that's what I'm going to do. Thank you all, and I'm glad to be back.

I'm pleased to here you've come out on top, it can't have been easy for you or especially your children. I hope they have a great Christmas.

Amen brother. It sounds ridiculous to say out loud but hanging around here has done a lot more for me than just gift me with an awesome front end. Helps keep me balanced as well.

Thanks for sharing your story and I'm glad you didn't use all your continues yet. :D
