legolas119 Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Hi, I'm searching a good front end for all my emulator. I have seen this hyperspin, but I don't know it. I have some questions? 1) is this the latest release http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=5689 ? Is it true that the development of this front end is finished? 2) is it possible to configure all the emulators (included Dolphin the Wii emulator, Demul the Dreamcast emulator, and so on) ? Or there are some problems with some emulators? 3) in the Hyperspin layout is it possible to show, for example, 3 different files: video + cartridge box + cartridge ? are the layout in hd quality, so I can see them ina 24" monitor? 4) is it possible to create the automatic games's list of every emulator? thank you
craiganderson Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Hi, I'm searching a good front end for all my emulator.I have seen this hyperspin, but I don't know it. I have some questions? 1) is this the latest release http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=5689 ? Is it true that the development of this front end is finished? http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?38152-Hello-from-BadBoyBill&highlight=badboybill 2) is it possible to configure all the emulators (included Dolphin the Wii emulator, Demul the Dreamcast emulator, and so on) ? Or there are some problems with some emulators? Pretty much ANY emulator you want. Here is what I have running so far. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?39082-share-your-main-menu-xml-list 3) in the Hyperspin layout is it possible to show, for example, 3 different files: video + cartridge box + cartridge ? are the layout in hd quality, so I can see them in a 24" monitor? Yes on the three files for sure. Somebody else comment on the resolution 4) is it possible to create the automatic games's list of every emulator? Not Sure what you mean. But for many but not all systems there are official lists of games already made and other people working on new ones. But if not, there are many programs to make a list OF YOUR games for you..... http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/ thank you welcome! have fun. lots of good people here http://craigandersonthemes.weebly.com/
SubZero Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 1) is this the latest release http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/do...o=file&id=5689 ? Is it true that the development of this front end is finished? Yes this is the latest release, and no development is not finished. 2) is it possible to configure all the emulators (included Dolphin the Wii emulator, Demul the Dreamcast emulator, and so on) ? Or there are some problems with some emulators? No problems you can configure all emulators. 3) in the Hyperspin layout is it possible to show, for example, 3 different files: video + cartridge box + cartridge ? are the layout in hd quality, so I can see them ina 24" monitor? Yes this is possible, HS themes work with 4 art layers 4) is it possible to create the automatic games's list of every emulator? We have minted XML's but it's possible to create your own or new ones. Welcome to the forum, just take your time and look into the forum segments, there is alot that you can do with HS. any questions just ask. we have a helpful community.
legolas119 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 Thank you! well, I'm reading some manuals and guide...but I'm a little confused..I try with some questions 1) Is it possible to add new emulators not present in the default pack that I have downloaded here http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=5689 ? For example, is it available the Wii emulator layout? 2) You said that Hyperspin supports 4 different art layers: weel, If I check some video in youtube, I can only see, in general, a video + one image for every game, not 4 different layout. Where can I find a layout with 3 (or 4) different files (video + 2 layers, for example) 3) I have to start now: I have downloaded the package from this link http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=5689, I think that this package is completed, is it correct? I want to configure, for example, the NES emulator, in particular Nestopia 1.46.2. So, first of all: A) I have to delete all the .ahk files that I find in the Modules\Nintendo Entertainment System and then I have to create a new .ahk file, named for example "Nintendo Entertainment System (Nestopia 1.46.2)": but how can I create it? Or where can I download it? then, I have to move my emulator folder named Nestopia (with the emulator, roms and so on inside) in the Hyperspin/Emulators folder C) I configured the Wheel Settings in this way (i found some tips in a guide): EXECUTION: normal PC GAME: Disable EXECUTABLE C:\HYPERSPIN\EMULATORSI\Nestopia\nestopia.exe ROM PATH C:\HYPERSPIN\EMULATORS\nestopia\ROMS PARAMS nothinsg EXTENSIONS .zip (can I add also .nes extensions?) USE FULL PATH TO ROMS: DISABLE SEARCH: SUBFOLDERS DISABLE WINSTATE: HIDDEN Well, If I start the Nintendo weel, I have problems/doubts: - I see a lot of games in the weel, but...I'm not able to see videos. I put 4 videos here: "Media\Nintendo Entertainment System\Video" and they have the same name of the rom. But they don't work - And how can I show in the weel ONLY the roms list I want to have with this emulator? And where can I find every roms title logo (I have to put them here: Media\Nintendo Entertainment System\Images\Wheel) - how can I set up the paths for the the cartridge box and the cartridge images? I have tu put them here Images\Artwork1 and here Images\Artwork2 ? I'm sorry for my amount of questions... thank you!
32assassin Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 1. Dead link, the default download only has minimal Systems installed (NOT EMULATORS) its up to you do decide what Systems you want to run such as the Wii. Open HyperHQ and add more systems their. 2. Each theme is configured diffrently you either modify an existing theme or download one with support for the artowrk you wan't http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?12578-Cart-amp-Box-art-together&highlight=cart 3. Dead Link again from your description it sounds like you have Hyperlaunch 2 installed. You should upgrade to RocketLauncher all the modules are included in the download. A. Upgrade to RL B. Yes, (MY recommendation) You should move your roms to another folder even a slave drive. Salve Drive/Roms/ Nintendo Entertainment System/ you might upgrade your emulator at some point or choose to use as different one. Your roms will always stay the same. C. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Execution Normal --> if you do this then you are disableing Hyperlaunch and their no need to use a module. You would think this is a good thing, (No need for a module). their is a reason why modules are created if you uprade to RocketLauncher your Wheel settings will look like this EXECUTION: Hyperlaunch PC GAME: Disable EXECUTABLE ROM PATH PARAMS nothinsg EXTENSIONS USE FULL PATH TO ROMS: DISABLE SEARCH: SUBFOLDERS DISABLE WINSTATE: HIDDEN In other words all your settings are saved in Hyperlaunch NOT Hyperspin
legolas119 Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 Sorry, this is the working link where I have found the latest Hyperspin package http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=5689. I have some other questions, please: 1) In the guide included in the Hyperspin latest package it is said that I have to unzip it in C:/ Well, I have 2 hd on my pc: on C I have installed O.S. and other programs. On F I have all my files. So, is it necessary to put Hyperspin folder in C necessarily or I can put it in my other hd F? 2) Starting wit a new installation, I think that first of all I have to download 2 package: - Hyperspin 1.3.3.0 from here http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=5689 - RocketLauncher.1.0.4 from here http://www.hyperlaunch.net/forum/content.php?128&postid=6912 (I don't find the download link of this release... have asked in that forum...) 3) I have read a good guide in an italian forum that I can do the first installation in this way: - I create the folder named Hyperspin3 and inside this folder I create 3 folder named HyperLaunch, Hypersinc and HyperLaunchHQ. - Then, inside the HyperLaunch folder I unzip the Hyperspin 1.3.3.0 full package. - Well, then probably I will unpack in the remaining 2 folder (Hypersinc and HyperLaunchHQ) some files I will find in the RocketLauncher.1.0.4 full package (this point is not so clear, I have asked more informations...) In this way, I will have all the files I will need to run the front end and then all the emulators (I still have the emulators and roms, I don't need them). Is it correct? thanks!
Fromlostdays Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 1) No, I keep everything on my secondary hard drive H: 2) You have to set up HyperLaunch via GIT to get the latest version. Tutorial here: https://sites.google.com/site/hyperlaunch2/home/downloads 3) Hyperspin and Hyperlaunch are separate programs that can work together. I recommend installing them each into different directories. I have H:/HyperSpin AND H:/Hyperlaunch Hyperspin - mostly handles media Hyperlaunch - mostly handles everything else They can be installed separately anywhere you like. Walter:beerglass:
legolas119 Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 ok thanks. 1) In H:/HyperSpin I will unzip all the contents of Hyperspin 1.3.3.0 full package and in H:/Hyperlaunch I will unpack the HyperLaunch full pack that I will download with GIT. I have also read that I have to create an additional folder, for example H:/RocketLauncher for the Hyperlaungh update, is it true? What does it mean? When I will update HyperLaunch package, I will download via GIT the updates in this folder (RocketLauncher) and not in HyperLaunch folder? Is it correct? Then, the Hyperlaunch will be updated even if the full package is unpacked in the HyperLaunch folder? 2) following the GIT guide http://www.hyperlaunch.net/wiki/index.php?title=HyperLaunch_Downloads, in the 2nd screen it is shown "Windows explorer integration" --> Context menu entries. But it the newest GIT version there are 2 different options: - Simple context menu (Registry based) - Advanced context menu (git cheetah plugin) that is checked as default Which is the correct one? thanks!
Fromlostdays Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 The Hyperlaunch-3 Folder IS the GIT download. It remains linked to GIT, so all you have to do is right click it and select "pull" to get all the updates. Then you copy and paste those into your actual Hyperlaunch folder. So you will always have a Hyperspin Folder (For Hyperspin) HyperLaunch folder (For your install of Hyperlaunch) AND Hyperlaunch-3 folder (you just leave this alone, and pull updates from GIT which you then copy and paste inside your Hyperlaunch folder to update the files) 2) I'm not actually sure. I'd leave the default and see if it works, and if it doesn't, uninstall and try the other one and if that doesn't work download an older version. Sometimes you just have to try shit to see if it works. You won't get very far if you stop every time someone isn't there to tell you exactly what to do. It's a lot of reading and learning and keeping up with the forums, and even then it's a lot of trial and error. Not to be a downer- it's totally worth. Walter:beerglass:
legolas119 Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 ok thanks I have read 2 or 3 different installation guides and I'm confused about the folders... For example, in this guide http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?29481-How-to-install-HyperSpin it is written that I have to unzip the full pack Hyperspin 1.3.3.0 directly in the root C:\Hyperspin. And then I have to create a subbfolder C:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch and C:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Hyperlaunch-3 for updates But in another guide it is written that I have to create a folder named Hyperspin, then I have to create 3 subfolder: 1) HyperLaunch: here it is unzipped the Hyperspin 1.3.3.0 pack. Then, it is not specified where it is better to place the HyperLaunch-3 subfolder...probably in C:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Hyperlaunch-3 ? 2) HyperLaunchHQ (it is not written the contents...) 3)Hypersinc Can you help me about the correct folders creation please? thanks
Fromlostdays Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Just put hyperspin in the root, and then you can put /Hyperlaunch wherever you want. Put hyperlaunchHQ folder inside of /Hyperlaunch because it's easier to update that way. There are many ways to do this, and many different guides. Pick one and try it. Walter:beerglass:
32assassin Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 ok thanksI have read 2 or 3 different installation guides and I'm confused about the folders... 2) HyperLaunchHQ (it is not written the contents...) 3)Hypersinc Can you help me about the correct folders creation please? thanks Hyperspin 1.3.3 comes with Hyperlaunch 2 installed, you have to delete a few folders in order to set up Hyerelaunch 3. this might be leading to your confusion. 1. I don't have this folder in my arcade cab, since the cab is not connected to the network. I have a desktop PC with this in my Download folder. when I upgrade, I simply copy the entire folder to a USB drive and copy the contents to my cab. DO NOT COPY and override this folders Hyperlaunch/Settings Hyperlaunch/Profiles. this are user specific, once you start to configure settings to your PC, the settings will be saved here. 2. when you correctly configure GIT, it will download the latest HyperlaunchHQ, and all its contents, you can copy and past it to your: C:/Hyperpsin/Hyperlaunch folder. left click over the Hyperlaunch-3 ( mine is simply Hyperlaunch since its not in the Hyperspin folder) scroll down to the GIT menu and select Pull. 3. You must be a Platinum member in order to take advantage of this feature, you should concentrate on getting your system up and running before you start to add any artwork.
legolas119 Posted February 15, 2015 Author Posted February 15, 2015 thank you!! Well, I started to configure HyperLaunchHQ and HyperHQ and I started to play my first emulator, Nestopia!!!!!!!! Really good! I have some little questions for you: 1) Even if I configured Nestopia NOT in fullscreen (I prefer the windowed version), when I started it with HyperSpin (or HyperLaunchHQ) the emulator starts forcing the image in fullscreen mode. Why? Is there an option to disable this feature? Usually I prefer to play emulators windowed 2) In HyperHQ -->Main Settins --> Optimizer, there are Level 3 background and Level 4 backgrounds unchecked by default. What does it means? If I enable all 4 level backgrounds I can visualize 4 different boxarts for every game in the wheel? Is there a guide of Hyperspin/HyperHQ configuration so I can read all the details? 3) Please, can you resume how many extra I can I can visualize for each games in Hyperspin interface. I think I can see until 4 boxart and 1 video, is it correct? So if I want to download images (cartrigde, box, and so on) and video in HQ I can buy platinum subscription to Hyperspin and to emumovies too. I will find there also the images logo for each game for the wheel and so on? I will find everithin with hypersinc, is it correct? 4) In order to send command to Hyperspin with my joypad (instead of keyboard) I have enabled the joystick option in HyperHQ --> Controls --> Joystick and mapped the command. But the joystick isn't detected, I'm not able to use it. Perhaps I need to configure it in HyperLaunchHQ in General setting--> global --> Third party --> Xpadder path? Or can I avoid to use xpadder and configure directly the joypad? 5) can you suggest me a good tool to create automatically the databases .xml files (F:\Hyperspin\Databases\Nintendo Entertainment System, for example) with only my rom list? It is too long to modify the default .xml files because it includes ALL the roms but I only want to see only my roms list in the Hyperspin wheel thank you very much!
32assassin Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 1. you must be the one and only person to ever request this, you can set your resolution in HyperlaunchHQ. 2. Not sure what you mean by this, all my HyperHQ settings are set to their default settings, I don't even know what you are talking about. if you wan't to display a box and cart in your default theme, you need to modify the existing theme in Hypertheme, not in HyperhQ. 3. yes but keep in mind that not every box and wheel has been made, you can see the OFFICIAL progress here. http://hyperbase.hyperspin-fe.com/index.asp if the artwork exists in Hyperbase, hypersync will download it for you. their is much more UNOFFICIAL artwork found in the FTP, the only reason its unofficial is because their is no official XML for that system. for emumovies you will need to check their FTP. 4. Unfortunately no, you need to disable joystick in HyperHQ, their is a known bug. you have to use Xpadder or other key-mappers if you use a joystick to control Hyperspin. you might want to look into this http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?28986-HyperSpin-Startup-Script&highlight=start I'm not sure but I think you can use this to control Hyperspin with AHK scripting (no xpadder) 5. You can use tools to modify the existing official XMLs. http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=4311 Assuming your rom names match the official XML Dons tools can scan your rom folder and rebuild the existing XML to only include the roms in your folder.
legolas119 Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 1) well...I'm sorry but I don't find the option in HyperLaunchHQ where I can set the resolution of the emulator Can you tell me where can I find it please? 2) I'm speaking about those 2 checkbox, not selected by default. Are they referred to Artwork 3 and Artwork 4 folders? http://s28.postimg.org/sv1jyhbe5/Main_settings_Hyper_HQ.png Now I have the default theme of Nintendo Enterteinment System: does it support only one Artwork? I put one artowk in Artwork 2 folder and it is shown. But If I want to see more than one artwork i have to change main theme downloading one which can visualize 2 o 3 (or 4) images? And I have to put every image in the 4 folder (artwork 1, 2 , 3, 4), is it correct? 3) and 5) : OK!! New question: is it also possibile to insert a theme for every single game, when I select it in the wheel? For example, this one http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=6565 If so, where can I put it in order to view it when I select the game in the Nintendo wheel? I think in a folder inside F:\Hyperspin\Media\Nintendo Entertainment System\Images, but I don't know the correct folder... In the package there are those files: Artwork1.png, Artwork2.png, Artwork3.swf, Background.png Theme.xml Dowloading that file, I'm not able to see it in this way: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads/hs%20screen_psU.png I think I have to rename the 5 files with rom's name (Double Dragon II - The Revenge) but ..then? thank you
Fromlostdays Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 1) The options is actually in HyperLaunchHQ. If you're up to date, go to your system, then to modules, then to nestopia and find the buttons that say "Global Emulator Options" and "System Emulator Options" its one of those. I think its fullscreen by default, but its easy to change. 2) Don't change any of those settings. If you want different artwork in your themes, you have to make them yourself. HyperTheme can help. Its in your Hyperspin folder. 3) Yes, just download the theme zip, rename it to the name of your rom, and put it in the hyperspin/media/nintendo entertainment system/themes folder. If its named right, it will show up for the game. Artwork1.png, Artwork2.png, Artwork3.swf, Background.png Theme.xml That's a common layout for a theme. A background image, some artwork, and a theme.xml that contains display information. Keep them zipped (Hyperspin reads theme in zip format) name them correctly and put them into the right directory. Walter:beerglass:
32assassin Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 2. again leave those settings alone! what art is displayed on the screen; will be based on the artwork inside theme zip file. if you wan't to use box or cart art (or both) you have to download a theme that supports them. you can also modify an existing theme with Hypertheme to display them. 3. as aletterfromthelostdays mentioned DO NOT UNZIP or RENAME any of the files inside the theme.zip file!!!!!! if your Theme.zip has a file Artwork(1-4) --> will be displayed in the screen just rename the theme name to your rom name --> same rom name must be found in the XML file.
legolas119 Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 1-2-3 --> YEAAAH!! Thank you very much guys!! It's fantastic!!!Everything works as I want!!! Only 2 more questions about themes: 1) I see that if I put here F:\Hyperspin\Media\Nintendo Entertainment System\Themes for example the Double Dragon II The Revenge.zip theme, it works correctly when I select the game, of course. In this case, when I want to have a specific theme for a game, it isn't possibile to see, in addition, the box, is it correct? I have done some tests, but If i use a specific game theme, I'm not able to visualize any other artworks for that game (onle the video). Is it normal? 2) One of my Nintendo default theme is this one: <video rest="none" start="none" type="tv" bshape="false" bcolor3="0" bcolor2="0" bcolor="0" bsize3="0" bsize2="0" bsize="0" delay="0.5" time="1" forceaspect="none" overlayoffsety="-7" overlayoffsetx="0" overlaybelow="false" below="false" ry="0" rx="0" r="0" y="238.05" x="335" h="380.05" w="506.7"/> <artwork1 rest="none" start="right" type="none" delay="0.5" time="1" r="0" y="320" x="847"/> <artwork2 rest="none" start="left" type="blur" delay="0.8" time="1.4" r="0" y="547" x="817"/> <artwork3 rest="none" start="left" type="blur" delay="0.5" time="1" r="0" y="574" x="193"/> <artwork4 rest="none" start="left" type="flag" delay="0.5" time="1" r="0" y="684" x="816"/> In this case, I can visualize up to 4 different artworks. Well, I think that 2 artworks anyway is enough. Well, is it possibile to change slightly the positions of the artwork? Probably modifing the Y and X parameters? And I suppose that the DELAY parameter it is the delay time I have before to see that artwork. But, what are the TIME and R parameters? thank you!
32assassin Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 1. you need an empty artwork spot in order to display cart or box art. the double dragon II theme looks to have all 4 artwork spots taken. so no you can't use it and also use cart/box art. you either use a game specific theme or a generic default theme with 2 open artwork spots (for cart box art). 2. you can modify everything, learn how to use the theme editor (HyperTheme). the latest version should be included with your Hyperspin download.
legolas119 Posted February 18, 2015 Author Posted February 18, 2015 OK good I have understood, thank you. I'm trying a lot of experiments It's really fantastic!!! I have downloaded from HyperList the xml file of Nintendo, but it's strange...some games as Final Fantasy 2 and 3 are still missing...probably a complete xml database is not available? Another little question: I noticed that (I have done my complete installation following this guide http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?29481-How-to-install-HyperSpin) some folders are present in 2 or different places. Some examples: 1) Databases: it is here F:\Hyperspin (with xml files for every system) and here F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunchHQ\Databases (here I have only Systems.xml file and this file is almost empty). 2) Media: it is here F:\Hyperspin\Media (I put here the media for every games for every system) but also here F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Media (there are others folder as Artwork,Background, etc) and finally here F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunchHQ\Media (here I have only the folder named Icons). 3) Modules: it is here F:\Hyperspin\Modules (with .ahk files for every system) and here F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Modules (with folders for every emulator with .ahk, file .ini and file .isd for every emulator). 4) Settings: it is in F:\Hyperspin\Settings (with .ini files for every system), and here F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Settings (with some emulators folder with inside their .ini files and in addition Global Emulators.ini etc..) and also here F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunchHQ\Settings (with only Frontends.ini and HyperLaunch.ini). Is it all correct? I leave those folder in this way, ok? For example, I know that here F:\Hyperspin\Media I put all the files I want to see running Hyperspin. But...here F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Media, I have to put different media files and I can see them...running what? Last question: do you know if it is possible to find (with platinum subscription) theme for a lot of games in hyperspin forum/ftp? Here, for example, pnly few themes are available http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=277 thank you
Fromlostdays Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 F:\Hyperspin\Modules (with .ahk files for every system) If you are up to date, this is useless. It's left over from an older version of HyperLaunch. You can delete it. Everything else is fine. Hyperspin displays media themes, videos, wheel images, game/cart art etc. So these go into various hyperspin/media directories Hyperlaunch has its own media folder which is mostly used for art videos music game manuals etc for HyperPause, and also fade and bezels. These go in hyperlaunch/media directories HyperlaunchHQ has its own media which is merely the icon files you see by your systems in HyperLaunchHQ. Those little pictures have to come from somewhere. they go in hyperlaunch/media/icon Lastly, yes, there are an absurd amount of themes on the FTP. Walter:beerglass:
legolas119 Posted February 19, 2015 Author Posted February 19, 2015 If you are up to date, this is useless. It's left over from an older version of HyperLaunch. You can delete it. 1) Yes, I have the latest version of HyperSpin and RocketLauncher release, of course. So I can delete this folder in Hyperspin\modules because the modules folder in Hyperlaunch is enough, ok? Hyperlaunch has its own media folder which is mostly used for art videos music game manuals etc for HyperPause, and also fade and bezels. These go in hyperlaunch/media directories 2) Ok, if I run HyperLaunch, it appears only pop up asking me: System Name and rom name. At the beginning it appears a pop up error message "Cannot find F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HYperLaunchHQ\Databases\Nintendo Entertainment System\Nintendo Entertainment System.xml". So, I have created a folder named Nintendo Entertainment System in F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HYperLaunchHQ\Databases and I put there the Nintendo Entertainment System.xml file...and in this way if I push TEST, the Nestopia emulator run the game. But...what is the funcion of HyperLaunch? It is only a rom test...is it correct? And I think that the databases are corrently located here F:\Hyperspin, is it correct? I can avoid to put them in F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HYperLaunchHQ\Databases folder too, ok? 3) Last question about files in F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Media: I have not really understood how can I visualize those media. For example, I have a video named Super Mario Bros.(World) in the folder F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Media\Videos\Nintendo Entertainment System\Super Mario Bros. (World). I have selected HyperPause = TRUE in HyperLaunchHQ. So, if I want to see all the extras (and the video, in this case) that are presente in F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\Media what I have to do? I have to open HyperLaunchHQ --> Games --> select a game and then push the button LAUNCH HYPERPAUSE. Is it correct? If I push this button, after selection Super Mario Bros.(World) rom, it appear a pop up message " The font Bebas Neu is not installed in your system. Please install the font or change it in HyperLaunchHQ". Why? How can I solve this strange problem? And if I run normally Hyperspin, I see only the media saved in F:\Hyperspin\Media\Nintendo Entertainment System, but not the media saved in Hyperlaunch\Media... thank you very much
Fromlostdays Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 1) Yes 2) The function of hyperlaunch is to launch games. Without it, all is lost. HOWEVER, the hyperlaunch.EXE is pretty useless by itself, unless it's activated by a front end like Hyperspin or HyperlaunchHQ. You never really need to launch anything using the standalone hyperlaunch.exe. If I had to guess, it only launches games at all because while this stuff was in development (before hyperlaunchHQ) people wanted a quicker way to test games and the devs threw that together for them. The exe itself never needs to be touched. You should do ALL your changes and testing through HyperLaunchHQ. IF copying the databses fixes your problem, that's fine. BUT, as far as I know unless they just implemented this, HyperlaunchHQ shouldn't be looking there for your nintendo.xml. It sounds to me like you didn't set up hyperspin as your default and active front end in HyperlaunchHQ. Do that, and it should look for that database in the proper hyperspin folder. Gigapig has a video on how, its simple. Edit: , relevant info at about 7 minutes, but you should watch the whole thing. It'll help you understand what you're doing. 3) The font Bebas Neu is not installed in your system. Please install the font or change it in HyperLaunchHQ". Why? How can I solve this strange problem? This font should be in your Hyperlaunch/media/fonts folder. Just install it to get rid of that error. Other than that, you can access hyperpause through HyperlaunchHQ OR by pressing the num pad plus "+" while in game. Walter:beerglass:
legolas119 Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 1) OK, done 2) Yes of course, my set up as default of Hyperspin in HyperLaunchHQ (as in your video) is already ok...for this reason I don't know why if I launch HyperLaunch it try to look for databases in F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HYperLaunchHQ\Databases...it's very strange. Anyway, no problem, I don't use HyperLaunch and so I'm ok 3) Ok, done! 4) Reading this guide (http://www.hyperlaunch.net/wiki/index.php?title=HyperLaunch_Downloads) I tried to check if updates are available (step 5) and I downloaded 3 folders (Lib, Media, Modules, all with red exclamation mark). So, I can cut/copy them all in the F:\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch overwriting the existing files in the Lib, Media, Modules folders, ok? In this way HyperLaunch is updated and all my configurations are safe, ok? thank you
