Demul 5.8 Scanlines

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the scanline shader in Demul? There were some really old versions that used an opengl plugin where you could create your own shaders but not anymore.

Scanlines look great at 640x480 but look terrible at 1920x1080. Problem in, in order to use a bezel, I need Demul set at 1920x1080. I haven't figured out a way to use a different resolution and have the bezel work full screen.

Does anyone have a solution for this? I'm using Demul for Atomiswave and Naomi.

I really wanted a bezel and scanlines but it doesn't seem possible.

I don't have a module with bezel support, so no. But your right at windowed resolution the scan lines look bad, RGBDOT micro looks better.

Try to get sweetfx going and screw with the advanced CRT settings.

I set up Sweet FX on Nulldc last night and looks great, but I had to use an older version....and that version doesn't want to work with the new Demul because it uses DX11. Nulldc must use DX9.

I'm kind of getting somewhere with this but I'm still not overly happy with it. I'm just using the vanilla Sweetfx with Demul running at 1280x960 with 2x internal res.

do you guys have sweetfx working on a 64bit cpu?

it always crashes for me. if you got it working, then could you write a short step by step guide on how to get it working with demul?

I think it depends more on the application being x86 or x64, as only Amiga has given me trouble before, and there was an x64 fix for it. It is just a matter of placing the files in the root and making changes to the SweetFX_settings.txt file.

Sweetfx does not work with everything and certainy doesn't work with anything that uses Opengl.

If you need more help, please let us know, and let us know what system crashes.

Here's the info for getting Saturn and Amiga to work. http://www.rllmukforum.com/index.php?/topic/154107-the-emulator-thread/page-20#entry9392686

Gigapig, are you using Windows 7 or 8.1? I've read that Sweet FX has issues with 8.1 and Direct X11.

NullDC runs perfect but no luck whatsoever with Demul.

Yeah, I figured. Since Sweet FX doesn't work with DX11 and W8.1, I got creative and added scan lines to the bezel. I have to say, I'm quite impressed with the results. I had no idea it would work but it did.

I'd like to see the results of that if you don't mind posting a screen shot; sounds interesting.

Tried uploading the screenshost but all I get is a tiny image. I can drop them in your FTP folder if you want to try them out.

Yes sure, that would be great.

Ok, it's in your folder under atomiswave. There are 3 game bezels where the scanlines are 2 pixels apart and there's a test bezel with 1 pixel apart. See which one you like better. There's also a PSD file and the module. make sure you set demul to 1920x1080 and 4:3 resolution and FXAA as your only effect.

It's not perfect but it's better than nothing. SweetFX does not work with Windows 8.1 and Direc X 11 unfortunately.
