crane_minter
There are systems like MAME where there is obviously no box or cartridge artwork available and for those I prefer to have a game theme for the respective games. But, let's say, for a system like the SNES where both are available, do you prefer to have the box/cartridge artwork being shown on Hyperspin, or do you also prefer a game theme, as both cannot be shown at the same time. Personally, I prefer game themes, although a lot of times they are not available for all games and I end up with systems mixing both.
damageinc86
I don't like individual game themes, even though they are really cool artwork wise. It's just too jarring of an experience to have stuff changing that much with every game. I just like having a static system theme, with the videos and text the only thing that changes. That's all I need really. Having info on hyperpause would be enough for me. That way if I really wanted to go see the box and cart art and manuals and all that stuff, it's there instead of flying in my face all the time. Styphelus
I don't like either because my OCD likes consistency. There are only a limited amount of themes and they are not widescreen so I don't use them because I don't like them streched. I like box art but a lot of it is missing or not even available for certain systems so I don't use that either. My setup looks like this:
damageinc86
Nice, yeah I like the cleanness of a system theme like that.
Fromlostdays
I prefer a moderate amount of theme usage on systems I use a lot like snes. Mostly just for my favorite games, which means my favorite wheel usually flips from theme to theme. For systems I don't use as much, I go theme heavy. dougan78
I prefer box and cart no themes. Except for arcade stuff.
