Hello all!!

I am looking for a little guidance here from hardware experts.

I just replaced my video card with a Gigabyte GV-R685 D5.

Graphics and most text is good. But some plain text is not being displayed correctly.

Just wondering if this is a setting somewhere?

Any help would be great!!!

Thanks,

Did you install video driver? Check also the screen resolution to match the original resolution of your monitor (if you haven't installed video driver the correct resolutuion may not appear

Thanks for the reply.

I do have the most current drivers and Catalyst installed.

The resolution is set to the native resolution for the monitor.

The monitor is identified as the correct make and model.

All scaling is turned off.

I may have to go back to my GeForce 260.

Thanks,

Ron

Check clear type in windows (control panel, fonts, clear type) and try to set it. This is pretty strange... with low resolution monitors problems may occur with modern fonts but i've never seen fonts rendered SO badly :P

Right? I tried all combinations of CT and scaling.

The strange thing is, it's not all fonts. Most look good. :S

Rollback the driver and try an older version?

That is going to be the last ditch.

I hate that it screws up my icons. If I jumble them again, might as well go back to the NVidia. Harumph!

I'll try a couple older drivers, if they are no marked improvement, i'll put this card in my cab. :(

Thanks,

Ron

Maybe you just got a crappy card :(

I would have thought so myself, except it works good on my cab. But there is much different between the two. :(

Thanks,

Ron
