MAME videos and pics

New to forums and I did a search on you tube and here but couldn't find a soloution. I got Hyperspin working with MAME only for now as I wanted to add one emulator at a time to learn how it works etc. I adjusted the list via Don's tools and it launches and runs the games great.

I went to EmuMovies and got all the game snaps and 11 videos (mp4's) for MAME but im guessing I either got the wrong ones or put them in the wrong section because all I get is a black screen now when I select on the games list in Hyprspin. I put the png screen shots in C:\Hyperspin\Media\MAME\Themes and I put the videos in C:\Hyperspin\Media\MAME\Video. Any help on what I thought would be the easy part would be appreciated lol

Oh I did add the videos in Hyper HQ C:\Hyperspin\Media\MAME\Video\

The snaps have to go in video as well to display correctly. If HS can't find a video it looks for a same file name but with .png extension.

Themes is for .zip files containing different artwork and animations for a game.

Thanks for the reply Axel it's doing my head in I can't find a guilde anywhere on the net on how to do it properly. I tried it for 1941 i have the rom 1941.zip so I put 1941.png and 1941.flv into

C:\Hyperspin\Media\MAME\Video but when I select the game in Hyperspin the screen is still black with nothing coming up but the rom name down the bottom.

Is that the correct location?

wing you need to have mp4 for the new hyperspin flv isnt supported anymore

Themes should be in .zip format in media/mame/themes folder. But i guessed u knowed that. And as above ... MP4 is the new standard for HS yeah. Tip: buy the gold/premium subscription @ emumovies .. Become a platinum member here first and u get 25% off the price from emumovies.. Thats what i did and hypersync Will fix the rest for ya

Hi Relic I forgot about that thank you, I went to emumovies and got the mp4 file for 1941 but hyperspin still wont show the video or the png file just a black screen arghhhhhh pulling my hair out lol any other suggestions?

Ok, Im not sure about png?? Do you mean the wheel for it?

For the vid that should be placed in the folder....

.....(Whereever you hyperspin root dir is..../media/MAME/Video/

If its a wheel for the game your talking about for the png, this should be placed....

.....(Whereever you hyperspin root dir is..../media/MAME/Images/Wheel/

However there should be no black screen? If this does not work, Im afraid we would need more information as to whats happening??

so for example you should have 1 vid in your mame video folder which would be 88 games see if that works for you at least and put the snap in the same folder make sure its named the same if that dont work go on hyper hq and click on mame then point your mame video folder to video and click ok

Firstly .flv videos are still supported and will still work. I doubt there are any .flv videos left on emumovies, except for intro movies.

Secondly you must have a theme or a Default theme for the video to work, not just a png.

png's can be used in place of a video if not video exist, but that png will need to be in the video folder.

If you only have the default theme, make sure you have reload backgrounds checked in HyperHQ so that the next video will play when a different game is selected.

Thanks for all the prompt replys everyone the community here is so nice relic jumped on teamview and fixed it for me I just needed the default.zip file in themes
