Harrisonm65 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Hi all I recently had a problem with my N64 ROM naming but was very quickly helped out with that here. However, since then I now have another issue. Im using Project64 v 2.1.0.1. I can run ROMs fine inside it as a standalone emulator. However, when I try to run them in HyperSpin, I get the error message: "Cannot find %path% Nintendo 64.ahk. You do not have a HyperLaunch 2 module for Nintendo 64. Please create one or check HyperList" In using HyperLuanchHQ and in there is a Project 64 (v2.x).ahk file. That file is set as the module for my N64 emualator in the "Emulators" tab in HLHQ. Am I missing anything else? All help greatly appreciated TIA
Gerurver Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Hi, i dont understand something, you use the newest Hyperspin, and the new RL/Rocketlauncher? and you get a message that your HyperLaunch 2 module is not there?
Harrisonm65 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 Thats what its telling me. Im sure there is probably just a config setting or something that I havent got quite right. I am learning this as I go along to some extent. Its just working out what I havent got right. As for HyperSpin, Im using v1.3.3 which is the latest version I think.
Harrisonm65 Posted April 15, 2015 Author Posted April 15, 2015 I literally just saw this:http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/topic/7625-hyperspin-1330-new-user-guide/ Latest version of HyperSpin comes with HyperLaunch 2. Think I may need to upgrade HL
Harrisonm65 Posted May 3, 2015 Author Posted May 3, 2015 I could really use some help on this now as my sanity is disappearing quickly! I followed the video by Austin as per the link in my post above. All seems OK apart from when I am in HyperLaunchHQ, the Emulators tab stays completely empty. I cannot get it to populate automatically. I can manually add details for the emulators I am trying to get working currently, but I think this may be where I am going wrong. How can I get the emulators tab to populate fully like in Austins video please?
32assassin Posted May 3, 2015 Posted May 3, 2015 if you followed Austins video, I hope you did not follow his advice and dropped all the Rocketlauncher files into the Hypespin folder. if you did then the files may be in other locations. go to C:\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\Settings look for Global Emulators (example).ini remove the (Example) so that you have C:\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\Settings\ Global Emulators.ini your Global Emulators.ini is where all your emulator paths are stored.
Harrisonm65 Posted May 4, 2015 Author Posted May 4, 2015 No, I kept a separate folder for Rocketlauncher and just placed that in my Hyperspin folder e.g. %dir%/Hyperspin/HyperlaunchHQ/ I prefer to keep things like this so they are easier to find, for me anyway. The rest of the video walkthrough went fine, but I do not have the GlobalEmulators.ini file at all, certainly not in my HyperlaunchHQ/Settings folder. The other ini files showin in the video looked to be there, just not that one. The closest one was called setting.ini but looked completely different to the GlobalEmulator.ini file shown in the video. I'll jump on the install later when I can and check the file isnt in another folder somewhere by mistake, but I dont recall moving any .ini files anytime. Worst case scenario - I dont have the GlobalEmulators.ini file. Am I able to download it from somewhere or am I looking at a re-install?
32assassin Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 download the latest version of RocketLauncher version 1.0 http://www.rlauncher.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=1 you will find the Global Emulators.ini
rfancella Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Hi, Just looking for some clarification. Are you saying you took the RocketLauncher directory and put all the files in HyperSpin, mixing the two together? The prefered and official structure is: ...\HyperSpin\ ...\HyperLaunch\ or ...\RocketLauncher\ ...\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunchHQ\ or ...\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncherUI\ The two (HyperSpin and HL/RL) should not be mixed together. But, this is ok as well. Because they are still seperate: ...\HyperSpin\ ...\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\ or ...\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\ ...\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunchHQ or ...\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncherUI\ Thanks, Ron No, I kept a separate folder for Rocketlauncher and just placed that in my Hyperspin folder e.g. %dir%/Hyperspin/HyperlaunchHQ/ I prefer to keep things like this so they are easier to find, for me anyway. rfancella Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Now to answer your question. There is no Global Emulators.ini file when you fist install everything. When you first launch HLHQ, the file is created, but it is empty. Go into your HyperLaunch directory and look in the Settings folder. You now probably have these two files: Global Emulators.ini and Global Emulators (Example).ini The intent is to copy or rename your Global Emulators (Example).ini to Global Emulators.ini before you run HLHQ the first time. So, go in there now and backup the Global Emulators.ini file that is in there (if it is) and copy/rename the Example file. Thanks, Ron No, I kept a separate folder for Rocketlauncher and just placed that in my Hyperspin folder e.g. %dir%/Hyperspin/HyperlaunchHQ/ I prefer to keep things like this so they are easier to find, for me anyway. I have renamed the non-example file with ORIGINAL on the end and made the example one just GlobalEmulators.ini. I see the full list of emulators in this file and that is now also reflected in my HyperLaunchHQ Emulators tab. 1 problem solved Hi, Just looking for some clarification. I have a structure as per your last example ...\Hyperspin\HyperLaunch\HyperLaunchHQ. I do still have the problem in HyperSpin though which tells me that it cannot find a Nintendo64.ahk as per my o.p. Cheers Mark
rfancella Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Mark, Great work so far! Let's be clear about one thing please. Is it HyperSpin or HyperLaunch that is telling you this? Looks like your path to HyperLaunch is not correct. Open up ...\HyperSpin\Settings\Settings.ini and tell me what is in your Hyperlaunch_path= Oh, and are you using the beta HyperSpin.exe file or the origninal HyperSpin? Thanks, Ron Thanks Ron I found the GlobalEmulators.ini file in the end. I have renamed the non-example file with ORIGINAL on the end and made the example one just GlobalEmulators.ini. Harrisonm65 Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 Sorry for the delay. Was too busy to get on last night. So, I went to get the path in the settings.ini file and noticed right away that it wasnt correct. I have now amended it to the correct path (...\Hyperspin\Hyperlaunch). However, now when I go to run a Nintendo64 game from Hyperspin, the screen goes black and I am presented with a rather jolly 'ha ha' or similar noise and the error message: 'Cannot find ...\Hyperspin\Hyperlaunch\Module Extensionsdxwnd\dxwnd.ini' I followed that path and found the .ini file but with -example after its name. I took a copy of that just in case, then renamed the original file to remove the -example as per previous files. (Everyday is a school day!) I now have another error message in the same way as the last one, but the error reads: 'Cannot locate a section called [Nintendo 64] in your Global Emulators.ini or Nintendo 64\Emulators.ini.' To continue my schoolday experience, I have now got around that as the default emulator in HyperlaunchHQ was 'Nintendo 64'. Im guessing that this was something Id typed in from a previous attempt to get this running. I have now selected the correct default emualtor for me (Project64 2.x) and now FINALLY, I can run N64 games. But (come on, you didnt think it would be that easy did you?!) when I select the game to run it, it opens up a UAC prompt nagging me about FontReg. Anyway I can make that disappear and just go straight into my selected game? HELP!! Oh, and my Hyperspin version is v1.3.3.0
rfancella Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Hi, Very cool and congratulations on getting it working. That error is pretty easy to resolve. Navigate to ...\HyperSpin\HyperLaunch\Media\Fonts\ Install that font, there should only be one in there. Thanks, Ron Sorry for the delay. Was too busy to get on last night. Harrisonm65 Posted May 10, 2015 Author Posted May 10, 2015 Perfect! Installed the font, and now my N64 ROMS load up no problem. Really chuffed to have got that sorted out. I still need to do things like get a controller set up to control all emulators and games etc and the next task is to rename my SNES roms to match the XML for the SNES emulator. Many thanks for all your help on the N64 side of things though. Definitely glad to have that pretty much working now
