I'm new to hyperspin and I have been at this all day. Even google and countless youtube tutorials are starting to fail me on a solution.

What I'm trying to do is do a practice launch a game in HyperLaunch in the games section. I'm using the correct emulator, the right version of said emulator, the rom and emulator path have been defined and the rom is labeled correctly according to the XML file and is showing green in the menu. I keep getting the error message

Cannot Find

C:/HyperSpin/HyperLaunch/ModuleExtensions/dxwnd/dxwnd.ini

I have tried multiple emulators, multiple sets of roms and different systems all together and keep getting this variation of an error message.I know I must be doing something wrong but I'm at a complete loss. Can anyone please help me?

Go into your dxwnd folder.

Assuming the path is C:/HyperSpin/HyperLaunch/ModuleExtensions/dxwnd/

There should be a file called dxwnd (example).ini

Make a copy of this file and rename it to dxwnd.ini

Try to relaunch a game again. :)

Try launching the exe file in that folder then try again to run that 1942 rom.

If it still fails post a log file please.

Thanks for the continued help, i appreciate that. I'm not really sure what exe file you want me to run though. As for a log file I hope this is what your referring to.

Ok,

Based on that error, you need to navigate to ...\HyperLaunch\Module Extensions\dxwnd

You should find a file there called dxwnd (Example).ini

Copy and rename (or just rename) the file to dxsnd.ini

Thanks,

Ron

I'm having trouble with this still and I'm unsure as to why that is. Nathan I tried doing what you suggested but I wasn't sure what to do with the files so I tried to just run into HyperLaunch and see if that would work but it didn't. rfancella I did what you suggested and it did not work either. I keep getting the same module extension error message. It still says it cannot find dxwnd.ini file but it is right there. I will post my log and module extension file and maybe you guys could give me any advice as to why this isn't working.

Looks like you have the Windows option "Hide extensions for known file types" enabled, as it is default for Windows instillations.

Try renaming the file to just dxwnd and test.

Thanks,

Ron
