Mp4 video distorted with Hyperspin 1.3 on Windows 8

Hi,

I just upgraded my HTPC to Windows 8 and all the mp4 videos are all scrambled with Hyperspin 1.3. I can hear the video just fine. The mp4's work when I open them with VLC outside of Hypespin and they work on my Windows 7 build which I still have. Is this an issue with Windows 8 and Hyperspin 1.3?

Thanks

I just downloaded a bunch of FLVs and I have the same problem with some of them being distorted while others work. When I play them outside of Hyperspin they all play correctly. So I used EmuMovies Video Converter to convert the MP4s versions of these and they work. So I'm wondering if I convert my existing FLVs to MP4 if it will work. Regardless you are probably right and I should just save myself the frustration and buy a video card :)

Man, this is too bad... I have a laptop with two gpu's (one is an integrated intel and one is an nvidia geforce). The geforce takes over for the onboard graphics when needed. Is there any way I could set Hyperspin to activate the geforce over the intel? I'd hate to have to go back and re-download all those flv's...

Thanks.

Edit: Wow that was easy... Right click Hyperspin.exe > Use with graphics processor > High-performance NVIDIA processor. :)

To make it switchable, though, you might have to turn the feature on in your BIOS.

Has anyone found a fix for this problem? i'm using the HD Graphics 4600 from my intel processor.

and i also get green/distorted video snaps in hyperspin.

Yes!! Use the old Hyperspin and use the hyperlaunch forwarder DJVJ created.

I'll even be nice enough to give you the link, since it was removed. Get it while its hot. Because i will remove the link later tonight so there's no confusion where hyperlaunch is stored for download.

Link Removed!!

I know it's an old thread, but figured I would post this here...

How to get mp4 videos happy with Hyperspin 1.3.x and Intel Chipsets:

1. Fire up Internet Explorer (other browsers will NOT work for this).

2. Go to adobe and install the flash player for Internet Explorer.

3. Browse to a flash video (just google "flash video examples").

4. Once a flash video is playing, right-click it and choose settings

5. UN-CHECK hardware acceleration.

6. Close IE

Worked for me on a Pentium G3258-based system and also on my Intel i3 NUC.

Cheers.
