Hey everyone i spent countless hours waching videos and trying to setup hyperspin and this problem has got me stumped. To my understanding i have rocketlauncher running corectly but instead of looking for /sethings/Emulators.ini it is seaching for GameName/emulators.ini for each indivial game it changes the folder name.

Trying to use RetroArch on SegaGenesis.

If i open RocketLauncherUI.exe and select sega genesis from the left panel then selec emulator i have RetroArch as the default emulator and when i go to games refresh the game list i can click on a game name and the rocket icon and the game launches and plays in retroarch fine. it just wont open via hyperspin.exe when selecting a game see attached image.

How is Hyperspin letting RocketLauncher know what game to launch? I.e. have you left hyperHQ execution at "Hyperlaunch" or "Normal" w/ params?

It seems like the command line args that are sent to rocket launcher have the game name in the wrong spot or lacking a system.

In HyperHQ what does the command line preview say?

Transition tool?  I did a fresh install of hyperspin 1..3 I don't have any any "old" files to upgrade from or do I still have to use the  transition tool to use rocket

My HyperHQ says HyperLaunch.exe "Sega Genesis" "RoomName"

I have tried multiple configurations in HyperHQ and get the same results.

I fllowed the "how to setup hyperspin" posted by ghutch92 i got up to step 15 then switched over to a youtube video.

Yes, HyperSpin 1.3 will be looking for the program HyperLaunch not Rocketlauncher so it will not work. I have heard you could possibly rename the rocketlauncher exe to HyperLaunch.exe but you will have to test that.

Another alternative will be to upgrade to Platinum and get the HyperSpin 1.4 beta which has been changed to look for Rocketlauncher and does not need to have the system ini's modified.

Hopefully you've read some forum posts from people who have had the same issue, here and at the RL site.

in the hyperspin settings.ini i have HyperLaunch_Path=C:\HyperSpin\RocketLauncher\

i have also tried to set RocketLauncher.exe in the Executable of HyperHQ with no luck

if i rename RocketLauncher.exe to HyperLaunch.exe there is already a HyperLaunch.exe in the RocketLauncher Folder should i just delete that one? or should a renamed rocketlaucnher.exe be in the same folder as hyperspin.

And yes i have read multiple posts i have spent over 30 hours reading and waching videos trying to get hyperspin setup wifes already nagging about it. i ran along multiple newbie problems that i managed to solve my self but this one has me stumped

If you have have downloaded RocketLauncher you should not have HyperLaunch in the same folder. Any idea why you have that in the RocketLauncher folder?

If you are using the HyperSpin 1.3 or lower, you will have to set your HyperSpin config as explained on section 3B of the link bellow for each one of your systems:

http://www.rlauncher.com/wiki/index.php?title=Transition_From_HyperLaunch3

If you are using anything above (HyperSpin 1.4 beta), you just have to open your HyperSpin\Settings\Settings.ini file and set the path bellow (no need for system specific settings, except for making sure that you are using the hyperlaunch execution mode for the system on HyperSpin):

[Main]
Hyperlaunch_Path=H:\RocketLauncher\RocketLauncher.exe

Those (HyperLaunch.exe and HyperLaunch.ini) should not be there and should be removed. You can then try renaming the RocketLauncher exe although I don't want to recommend that as it may cause issues with updating.

You should follow the guidelines on the RL forum,

did you download this set up from somewhere?

you have so many files in this folder, files that are no longer used.

if you are using Rocketlauncher,  why are you keeping Hyperlaunch 2?

you should have Don's tools in its own folder, among other things.

I was following youtube videos so that's how dons files wound up in  the main folder. anyway I finally got it running by deleteing hyperlauch.exe and renaming rocket but will look into the proper way of doing things.
