The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Can't find anywhere how to achieve this. I would like to keep windows and HS on SSD C:\ drive but of course due to limited size of SSD I'd like to link the media to another drive. How can I do it? Which ini to alter (if any)?

I have HS 1.3 with RL 1.0

If you going to link to something please point out to the part that deals with that specifically not a 2 hours long setup video that the step I'm looking for is buried somewhere at 1h 39min and I'll miss it because I'm snoring by then.

I have a goldfish attention span and I'll zone out before I'll ever get there.

Thank you!

Really!?!

So is it at all possible to use SSD with Hyperspin? Let's assume worst case scenario that I am some kind of a nut that has all the time in the world on hands to put this together. If I'd collect artwork for every media imaginable, there is now way that will fit on a 128GB SSD with a system already on it. I doubt it would even fit on 256GB (anything above that it's rather expensive at the moment). Or am I wrong in my assumption?

Btw about the videos how do I link to videos on another drive?

To link the videos...just open HyperHQ and select "Wheel Settings" then select your system and click on the Video Tab. If you use HyperSync you will have to select "use alternate video folder" from the main options!

I can fit my systems fine on a 120GB SSD if I want. Depends on what kinds of media you want. If you just need the basics ie, Wheels, Themes, Carts, Pointers and Sounds then you can fit a lot of stuff since it's just PNG's basically. If you wan't everything else like manuals and that kind of stuff you will probably run out of space at some point, but most of the stuff is pretty small in size.

Thank you about the video folder

Regarding the media though just to be sure. Let's assume worst case scenario and let's say only what you mention minus anything out of ordinary like manuals. Would EVERY system imaginable including pc, steam etc still fit on 128/256GB HD SSD?

Thank you for clarification. No I'm not planning to have every system or even anywhere close to that. Just wanted to get an idea on how to plan everything and what is the approximate size of HS fully loaded on HD. Thanks again.

I was thinking about an sd card bug maybe I shouldn't? So you don't see any additional speed ups vs a external hard drive on the media?

This will perhaps the future approach that I will take after I got my arcade cabinet :)

The most ideal solution that I would do is simply create a hardlink in your HyperSpin root folder pointing to the Media folder that you stored in an external drive.
