Make sure your roms are .nes for may not .zip or .7z or anything else.

Also have a search for mounting drives. I believe The user sting has put a lot of tips/guides for external drives on the forum

Metalzoic makes a few adjustments to one of phulshof's 300000000 different filtered mame xmls which are updated with each version. You can find the xmls in post 11 and what Metal does in post 15 here.

Thanks I come from there to here. It's the "other little clean ups" bit that makes really want metal to upload one of his versions to the database section of upload here.

Yeah i have seen a few posts from Metalzoic that state he takes Phulsofs XMl adjusts it fixes a couple of things and gets it down to around 7000.

One of those post lead me to this thread. I trust his skills and would prefer to use his XML if its availiable

There used to be a site that collected all artwork, but it's way out of date now.  There really needs to be a central repository of bezels.

 

The trouble is - Mame uses LAY files, RL uses INI (though I assume have a zip with BOTH is doable).  The other is far more tricky - quality.  I think for there to be an effective repository you'd need gatekeepers to assure quality is allowed in, but rubbish or duplicates is kept out. 

I am new to all of this but as far as I know my hosting package for the websit is unlimited storage. Im not sure on bandwidth speed but if your happy I can upload a test file there and see if its workable. PROBABLY NOT THE BEST OPTION FOR THIS but I dont mind helping out.
