Hello all, okay I’m not a level 1 noob. But wow is all I can say to all the beautiful work that has been done to hyperspin over the years! I recently got it fully installed / working and utilizing rocket launcher- HS1.5 version just wow the art files you all created are truly amazing. I’ve been into arcade machines for over a decade so would often see custom machines but none like the level hyperspin has gotten to. anyways I just wanted to introduce myself. I know I will have questions as I continue to make my hyperspin more my unique tastes. As of now I’m configuring it to play all my old classic games I love. cheers!

Just a post to introduce myself and say Hello fellow spinners from all the way downunder, that's Australia, the western side of...Perth to be specific! Im here to hopefully source the required downloads/files/tools to update/upgrade my arcade cabinet system that I bought some years ago now that Ive done my research on and found it to be running the Hyperspin front end for a version of Mame which is running on a HP desktop pc system that is bolted down inside an old Two Player Stand up Mal Atwell (ex Timezone) Arcade Machine cabinet that has an lcd screen fitted inside and a basic pc audio two way powered sub/speaker sound system and two sets of player …

12yr old "Newbie". Built a working rig back in 2013-14 with my X-Arcade pre-Tank-Stick double controller only to have my external drive fall off a desk and stop working shortly after. By the time I got around to trying to rebuild from scratch, I forgot what I did the first time. Excited to dust off my controller and get back to it, I was saddened to find the site down. A few years ago I heard that it was back up, but by the time I went to check it was down again. I attempted again back in 2023 and missed the window again, but was given a ray of hope with a message of a potential return. Last year I started again and was excited to see the site back up; but, when I foun…

Old timer here, when used to use BBS as means of communicating online and sharing from Commodore 64 and Amiga days! Anyways always been a big fan of HyperSpin and was just createing a new gun build for the old version, so now going to hold off and make it for HyperSpin 2. Think I'll bite the bullet and send ya my money so that I can get into this beta testing and help out to make this a great front end. Many have moved to Launch/Big Box however im not a fan of that front end. Always loved the flow of HyperSpin. Many people said it was hard to figure out, however if you spent some time with it, really was'nt. Anyways kudos to the developers for sticking around and making a…

Hello to all, and a big thank you for allowing me to join. I have just recently become aware of the retro gaming "scene," and I have dived in with gusto. I am a 57 yr old USAF active duty retiree and a USAF government civilian retiree. My main platforms for this retro journey are a Nvidia Shield (tv platform) as well as a Nvidia Shield Tablet. Like many, I grew up being exposed to the video game revolution...my first exposure was Pong, but I will never forget the wonder and thrill of playing my first arcade platform, Space Wars! My desire right now is to learn how to setup my own Hyperspace environment, as well as explore the ins and outs of making retro games wo…

Howdy all. Seems that posts generally speaking are far and few between here. Given the notice of server issues and general lack of recent threads, hopefully this wasn't a bad time to become a paying member. So I've recently acquired a roughly 10 year old, 2-player Nu-Gen cabinet. I wanted to make this a full fledged gaming cab for not only legacy consoles, but the current crop of consoles and PC games, so I'm at the end stages of a HW upgrade. It's leveraging the legacy I-PAC PS/2 interface, and while it works, may also upgrade to the Ultimate to consolodate the LED board and interface to one device. One piece of HW I will take a recommendation on is for a 12-way…

Yo, amazed I even have the time to type this. Yes I'm 50 and yes I have a 1+ year old at home 😅 so my free time is limited. Younger me would dive into every tutorial, video, pdf and build from scratch. Well now... I have an arcade hyperspin system that was put together for me in 2017 - and life happened, haven't touched it much until recently. Now I'm trying to modernize, clean up, touch up and simplify. I cloned my C drive to a new m.2 and formatted to gpt. I upgraded my monitor from a tv to an Asus G-Sync. Updated the lighting in the cabinet to be powered by my cpu usb ports for easier simplified shutdown without turning off several switches. All so far…

Hi Everyone! I'm new to Hyperspin and started learning how to configure it. I was a long time MAME user and I came across a YouTube video about Hyperspin, It blew me away and I wanted to check it out! My goal is try to get the Taito Type X emulator to work in hyper spin. I heard it was really difficult, but I'm still going through all the tutorial threads on the site at the moment. I wanted to thank all you guys for the awesome tutorials and info!

Hi to everyone. im an old gamer and love all things retro. i used to enjoy having a tinker back in the day but due to event out of my control these days i struggle. ive joined the COmmunity to ask for assistance or to whether what id like to achieve is possible. i have a track and field Style cabinet (not original) and id like a front end of some discription to just play Konami Track and Field and Hypersports only as its a 6 button config. i have really tried but due to a brain injury in 2007 my coordination is limited and my concentration is a pain in the A$%& lol unfortunatley i did try elsewhere but i was let down and the end result was a cabinet …
