gigapig Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Nope, demul is pretty much the same as 90% of the other emulators/systems. Setup emulator, add in RLUI, assign to system and go. -Open folder -Look at game names -Compare to databases or google them -System discovered. Yes & nope, and with your reasoning there only ever really needs to be one guide. The reason I did one specifically for Demul was because it has some intricacies like list sorting, bios, system menu settings and shaders. If you don't explain these things the user are just gonna come back with more questions about why things don't work and graphic glitches.
Metalzoic Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 There's no DC stuff in that PD romset as far as I can see What that PD set has is up to six separate systems worth of roms and they can all run off the latest Demul emulator with individual adjustments on a per system basis. 1. Sega Naomi 2. Sammy Atomiswave 3. PCB Sega Hikaru 4. Gaelco 5. Sega Aurora/SP 6. Cave 3rd (7. Demul can also play Dreamcast but those roms are not included in that PD set you downloaded.) The main two with the largest list of *mostly* playable games with the roms you downloaded are the first two. The databases for the first two are available on this website. If you want to go to the trouble of adding Hikaru, Gaelco and Aurora I have the DB for each if you need them. There are only a handful of games in each of these three and whilst they are playable to an extent some of them have sound/graphic issues. Thanks, I would like those DB's if you could attach them here that would be great. And you're right, the PD looks like it was everything I wanted and no DC stuff.
Metalzoic Posted July 12, 2015 Author Posted July 12, 2015 Giga I can get games to launch fine from DEmul, but launching from RLauncher and it sticks at the RL loading screen everytime with every game I've tried so far. This loading screen can't be exited, closing it in Task Manager does no good, Ending all RocketLauncher processes does no good I have to re-boot the system each time. It's making it a painstaking process to troubleshoot. Any ideas what could be causing it? EDIT: It's the Atomiswave games that have the issue. So far Naomi seems to launch fine in RL.
Metalzoic Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 No, Haven't made any changes to the ini's at all. Maybe it's just that this 58.2 module doesn't work so well with this new .7 version
Metalzoic Posted July 13, 2015 Author Posted July 13, 2015 So was looking at Supermodel. They have a download website that says the latest version is .2a, but that site hasn't been updated since 2013. The database here says the latest version is 1.1 so... is 2a really the latest or has it progressed beyond that? Even if 2a is the latest is there a reason I should stick with 1.1 since for some reason that hasn't been updated here in the past 2 years? And what's the newest version of Sega Model 2? I've found a few downloads for it, but some look sketchy and none mention a version number. Austin has one in his youtube vid, but he also mentions that it won't work on an arcade cab and to go get the vanilla version. Problem is he doesn't say what that version is and had no link to it. Other weirdness. That PD download had 74 (of 174) Naomi games missing or that showed in red compared to the database here. Maybe that's mostly just a naming issue? Not sure (I haven't compared them yet), but I pointed it to an old rom set I had from 2012 and 65 more games now work... Shouldn't the newest DB here and the newest version of Demul should match 100% though?
Metalzoic Posted July 27, 2015 Author Posted July 27, 2015 After asking around on the RLauncher site it just sounds like the current DEmul module doesn't work right with the newest version 7 of DEmul. Bummer.
Kiro04 Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Man! Sory for taking so long to answer!!! The more I think about this the more I want mine setup this way.An Arcade Classics Wheel running MAME and most arcade gamesA SEGA Wheel running old sega, model 1, 2 & 3 games (if it's possible to mix all those emulators in a single wheel...)A Capcom Wheel (I'm guessing there's no way to mix Taito Type X games with MAME in a single wheel though?CaveMidwayTecmoetc...And then I suppose you'd also need an "Others wheel" for companies to small, weird or niche to deserve their own wheel. Or just leave them under the main Arcade Classics wheel?Sorry, just stream of consciousness spitballing here.Who else has there's this way and how, specifically, do you have it set up? This is my Main Menu.xml (magnavox doesn't work, I have it there because it's the first home console) First I have the game consoles. Second the arcade machines. Then 5 manufacturers (because they have games that I dont remember what they call, then I put all together!). After that PopCap and Future Pinball. All with themes, wheels and videos (maybe a couple missing, not too much) (Taito, Atomis, Naomi, etc doesn't work in my PC) If you want, I can upload the systems you need... Regards!!! PD: Sory for my english
